Honestly, get them in for a rehearsal. If they sound like shit, can it and go to plan B.

If others here had not have seen him live, I would swear his songs were really sung by the Real Milli Vanilli as he can not carry a tune.

That's not health as you don't become tone deaf because of health. That isn't even a degeneration of his voice. That is a complete inability to sing right there. The female back up sounded good so it isn't the equipment or the way it is coming across on TV.

He seemed to be almost speaking the lyrics in an overly dramatic fashion.

Very very dangerous for him if he is still hoping to make money from his singing.

Agree on the first point, you'd have thought the AFL could have investigated in advance who can carry a performance live and who can't.

I disagree on the other point though, I think the problem is that his voice is shot. It happens to singers his age.

I went to see Chicago this time last year and the bloke in the band who sings the ballads Peter Cetera used to sing (Jason Scheff) had exactly the same problem (although he is quite a bit younger than Loaf). His voice sounded shot too.
