One of my mates is an old school friend of Paul Medhurst.

He was telling me last night that Medders was fuming when Mick broke the news that he wouldnt be playing this weekend. Apparently he knew a day or so before it broke in the media, and Mick met with him to tell him the news face to face.

Medders has not taken this well, and stormed out of the meeting.

There is some talk (although not from Medders might I add) that Medders may ask for a trade because of all this.

Do you think Mick made the right call? Medders kicked three goals against the Cats last time around, and he is one of those guys that can be totally out of form for weeks, and then suddenly turn it around and kick a bad the next week.

Interesting dillema. Good luck against the Cats - hope you guys smash them.

Yeah, my mate's sister's ex girlfriend's best friend's uncle heard the same thing.

Medhurst isn't stupid, he knows his form is down and he also knows that Mick turned his career around.

Bad troll.

Medhurst has nobody to blame but himself. He's been poor.
Yeah, but Medders is one of those players that doesnt really need to "play himself into good form".

He can be out of form, and then the next week - bang - he is back to his best.

I think it shows that your list is travelling pretty well when a guy as good as Medders can be dropped.

Medhurst is going to ask to be traded after being dropped ONCE....? Yeah right.
That would be very childish.

If every player wanted to be traded every time they were dropped because of poor form.... well, we wouldn't have much of a team.

They're grown men. I'll believe it when I see it.

I like Paul. The reason he wasnt consistent at the Dockers was that the coach and the club didnt have enough faith in him. When the talk was about Farmer and him not being able to play together, he just dropped his head and lost the plot.

Mick needs to let him know that he wants him back in the side asap...he needs to feel wanted.....he loves his mum and he talks to her on phone every day...a guy like that needs a lot of support

5 goals since round 16 is pretty poor.
and out of form players like himself wont help.
HORSES FOR COURSES like mick said and hes been playing like a donkey
his gotta earn it this week in the prelim final in the VFL
but only IF we can do the impossible this w.e he'll have a chance to play in the seniors.

Was one of the hardest trainers today in the VFL that is. I think medders is tough enough to realise the team comes first. If he puts his head down he may just see a grand final.

Meh, this sort of shit happens at every club and every level of competition. The next day he would've been thinking, man I'm a dick, and focused on getting back in the side.

He should have been dropped to the VFL at about Round 20. He might have been able to regain form then.
Absolutely! Bad decision making by the coaching staff. Plus of course your gonna be in bad form when the ball goes over your head all the time

Well if he did respond to being cut by stroming out he has some passion.
It's how he returned which is more important.
Agree.

Medders hasn't had much luck this year: restricted preseason, injured during the season. Just hasn't been able to get the run in his legs. If anything, they've kept kept him in the side too long in the hope that he can turn it around. But it hasn't happened for him. He's had a shite month of footy. Can't be carrying anyone in Sept.

Right decision for mine. It's a pity. A fit and in form Medders would be huge for us at this time of year...

I'd be more annoyed if someone was telling the story of Meds giving MM a hug after being told he was dropped from a final.

I want a player that wants to play, and when dropped is angry and storms out.

Med's is a passionate person, one that wears his heart on his sleeve.

Hopefully Paul helps our VFL team into the Grand Final with a BOG performance and is back next week.
