There's more chance of Medhurst being at west coast than Fremantle next season IMO.

????

He is under contract, so unless he is traded he will be with us. I also doubt whether he is what WC want. I think he has more chance being at another club than at WC, and far more chance to still be with us.

I have been considering for a little while now that maybe Meddie can be played in another possie with us?

He is fairly good as an in and under player and is fairly strong.

Only thing is I think he would be best tried in the midfield but I think they are lookin for taller bodies. Maybe a winger as wehavethepassion suggested

His lack of hand-balling skills would stop him being any good as an in and under player. They need quick hands and sure delivery which is something I have never seen Medhurst do.

In my opinion, the biggest problem with/for Medhurst is that he has not shown an ability to play anywhere other than the forward line as a go to forward. He was tried as a high half forward, and looked okay I guess, but others play the role better and can rotate into the midfield. When they have played him midfield and even drifting back he has been very ordinary and appears reluctant.

Well then we probably can do without him. I think most of our guys are happy to play in the position that best suits the team and not the individual.

If he only wants to do it his way then I guess we trade him.

Didn't Priddis just win the Sandover Medal ? Fremantle would need to offer more than Medhurst to get the Eagles to trade Priddis now !

Connolly stated a couple of years ago that we always play Medhurst in the pocket, because even when he is instructed to play somewhere else he drifts back to the goal square anyway. The message finally seems to have got through to Medders and he seems to be a lot less selfish now, but he is certainly someone we can afford to lose if the right deal presents itself.

As has been stated several times in this thread rookie listed players can't be traded, so even if this thread was titled "Pavlich for Priddis" west coast wouldn't be able to make it happen.

The sandover medal doesn't mean much anymore. Going into the count Daniel Bandy and Anthony Jones were favourites, neither of those guys would be drafted even if they had won the last 3 sandovers.

Medhurst>>>>>>>>>>>>>Priddis.

We don,t want bloody Medhurst. Priddis will be in out 22 sooner than you think. Medhurst? Haa haa haaa.

I sincerely hope that this does not occur. Priddis is decent, medhurst is not!

Medhurst<<<<<<<<<<<<<Priddis
Priddis will have something to offer next year. Medhurst is finished. I understand why you guys want to trade medhurst, but cant see why anyone would want to pick him up.

Medhurst is by far the more talented player, not forgetting this bloke tore apart Brisbane a few years ago with 9 goals, I would want to keep him because I'm sure he can reach his old form again, plus he's still only young!

That was the problem with the club last year; they kept picking players like Polak and Medhurst because they did something decent in a game once. Now that we have depth, those players need to learn how to do something decent consistently.

PS I think Priddis would be useful on the list.
mate medhurst kicked 60 goals a couple of years back so he would be a good player if freo can fit him in da forward line with farmer

Firstly, prior to 2006, Medders had averaged 40 goals per season - that's not bad for a bloke of 181cm. He is a good player, but for whatever reason has lost his "je ne ce pa pour-quoi"... his "enigmatimercurialabilitiness"... ;) But he's only 24 and it must still be there somewhere. But you're right - he needs to find it, and make it happen consistently again.

However, (and this is the secondly part) can we pleeeeeaaaaase move on from the Medhurst for Priddis thing. Priddis is a rookie and can not be traded even if both clubs wanted it to happen. Which is not to say that they do, but even if they did, it couldn't happen.

Alright, it's been mentioned a million times, can people please stop saying "you can't trade a rookie"!!! We can still treat it as a hypothetical, and discuss the merits of the trade, if it were possible.

Personally, I think it would be a great trade for both sides. I'd love to see Medhurst in the blue and gold. He'd slot in perfectly.

P.S. Dockers want Kerr for Medhurst, just reported on channel 7.

How bout we discuss the merits of Judd in the dockers side ???? Its a pointless waste of energy.

Kerr for Medhurst and how many else ?

It might be a pointless waste of energy, but noone's forcing you to partake in the talk, you're more than welcome to just ignore it. Everyone now knows that Priddis can't be traded, if they want to keep discussing it then that's their prerogative. There's nothing wrong with hypotheticals.

P.S. I was thinking exactly the same thing with the Kerr suggestion. Perhaps they're bartering?
