Does CC have the bollocks to leave Medhurst out this weekend? Should he leave Medhurst out?
Why not leave out one of our most talented players who is currently 3rd in the goalkicking behind PAV and the Wiz 4th in marks and 7th in kicks for the team all the while supposedly being out of form. Imagine if he hit form! Some people believe what they read in the worst

I'd like to see him just play closer to goal, like Pav. Bugger this development part of his game further up the ground, you can't teach an old dog new tricks. Stick to what he's good at, kicking goals!

If we can continue kicking long to Pav and McPharlin, Medders will get the opportunities.

I dont see his lack of form as in not kicking goals as he's not getting the opportunities, its more the result of the whole forward line lacking opportunities previously.

Medhurst looks more and more like he'll be traded end of year with him postponing his contract negotiations until year end. Thats a shame lets just hope he kicks a bag or two so we can get maximum value. I dont think Weevils need him but he'd be worth one of their lower ranked midfielders in his top form...Kerr or a Braun.

Another p1ss poor effort from an over rated boofhead, if he's not playing for Claremont next week Connolly's not fair dinkum!
I thought his performance was OK, but his attitude was the usual disdain for doing any of the one percenters.

If we had Farmer back, he'd be in trouble. But I think we need him against Melbourne.

He is obviously reading about what people say about him. His early season talks about not handballing, not passing to other players etc combined with playing an unnatural position to him (playing up field) is making him look lost and not confident to use his natural instincts. And that is to back himself and kick goals.

What people don't realise is how how much he's been working on different aspects of his game this year, developing himself. The coach has backed him in, and they will reap the rewards soon enough. IMO dropping him to the WAFL would be a BIG mistake.

Get a clue, he played reasonably well.

He was poor for a stretch of weeks but was good earlier on in the season.

Small forwards are easy to blame but it's close to the most difficult position to play- Medhurst was/is not the problem.

6 Kicks, 5 Handballs, 2 Marks gave away 2 Frees, 1 Tackle and kicked 1 Point

If thats a reasonable game I know who hasn't got a clue!!
He needs to go back to Claremont until he learns how to be a team player.

Thats right. 5 handballs from a small forward is selfish play. I counted at least three goal assists too. Selfish bugger. One of those he beat two opposition players standing in the tackle to dish off a handpass.

As far as I'm concerned, any post that has a go at small forwards starts from the basic position that the poster is a bit of a nong. Small forwards are the easiest targets followed by full forwards. Farmer, Sampi, Russell Robertson, Leon Davis, Stephen Milne, Yze, -- they all cop it.

Sure Medhurst is not having his best year but his last two games don't warrant dropping him because he is improving, and he is difficult player to match up on and the team is Pavlich mad at the moment so he isn't getting much ball delivered to him.

he chased hard and never gave up. Thats all I want from medders as a forward pocket.
I saw him at one stage just jogging after an opponent with the ball and only belatedly sprinting when he realised he might be a chance to get it himself.

Despite his up and down form, I honestly believe he will develop into a very good small forward. Trading him would be a mistake, the guy is still only young and will only get better!

I must admit, he drives me nuts sometimes and maybe he should be dropped to the WAFL for a week or two but I think trading him if he doesn't want to go would be something we end up regretting.

Be interesting to see what the club can get for a 40 goal a year small forward. My money would be that if he goes, by thend of 2006, there would be 167% chance there will be at least 50 Bigfooty posts saying it was another dumb Fremantle trade.

Depends what we get in return. There's no doubt he has talent and a lot of potential, so hopefully we can get someone decent.
