If they've got any brains at all they'll unload Medhurst, that's if anyone is interested, and he wont be missed.

From the Age:

"Paul Medhurst, who has been battling to hold his place in the team, kicked no goals but set up four. Once you could judge him by how many goals he kicked as he did little else. Yesterday he was the total package."

For ChrisP, sdb and you other experts, put that in your pipe and smoke it.

like all small forwards he will be subject to the whole "you kicked no goals therefor your useless" stereotype.

Medders chased hard, set up goals and even cleaned up an Ump.

good game from the little tyke, his game isn't 1 dimensional any more.

I haven't seen the telly replay but was he looking at the ball. If so then nothing to worry about.

If he wasn't then he may get suspended.

Mate, at the time of writing my first post about Medders, a game in the WAFL wouldn't have done him any harm at all and I think you surely must know that.

Simple, the Club cannot afford to have two small forwards on the ground at the one time particularly when one of them (Medhurst) seems incapable of playing anywhere else.

Eyes on the ball the entire way through to the contact, was very obvious medders didn't notice him.

Also, since when has the AFL allowed kids on the arena before the second siren ? ........................., that boundary umpire hasn't even graduated to "loaning" his old mans razor.

In all, full marks to the boundary ump, he got winded but got up, made no fuss and threw the ball in. (cc. to Matthew Head).

Thanks Mick, fair call. I dont know whether he cant play elsewhere, CC tends to be stubborn and needs to be dragged kicking and screaming to try things.
I also agree with the comment above that he causes problems for the opposition coaches in matchups and he probably has benefits on the team that cant be directly attributable to him.

I would like to see him midfield and see how he goes.

The other thing is how long is Wiz going to be around and surely Medders is the ready made replacement.

Keep him. If he's not getting goals he's setting them up. Last week he gave off 3 goals but didn't kick any. This week he got 3 and gave off another 2-3. He does a lot more than anyone is giving him credit for

Absolutely. He had the first 4 scoring shots of the match today. Geez, for a small forward to kick / set-up 8-9 goals over 2 weeks is everything you could ask for from him.

Medhurst has been slowly getting back into form. 152 career goals from 82 games now as well. A handy return for basically a forward pocket.

Today and last week for that matter proved to me that all who have been asking for Medhurst's head are fools. It would be at our peril that we traded him.
