Bit late, but Martin Pike was a special guest on the Marngrook Footy Show last Thursday and similar to his appearance on Open Mike, as always was honest and forthright and both he and Chrissie Johnson were very insightful re: their admiration for Leigh and why Angus should step aside.

Always found MMM footy unlistenable due to the out of control jocularity. As soon s I clicked the link, what do I hear.... laughter. Is there an archive link to the interview?

Lol That was yesterday and for the live link to Triple M hot breakfast. I am guessing the archive would be under the triple m hot breakfast page. Will look to see if I can find it :)

EDIT: Cant find it quickly as it all time i have. TBH they spent about 2 min on the topic as Eddie had to do a live cross to Today show during it so really didnt talk about it much. Was more on the book

Discussed- still hoping Roos is in play
- hoping that Angus et al will step down- waiting 6-7 weeks to a EGM would be disastrous
- Leigh's focus is the new coaching position
- selection committee re coach has been put in place, but not by Williams- but he's not bothered by that
- even if Angus signs Roos still will go ahead with board challenge- the members noise is deafening

Caught the back end of Mark Harvey being interviewed on SEN on the way from the office before, all I heard was that under no circumstances will he coach us or Essendon next year; rightfully sounded still very upset at his treatment by Freo and now only wants to work in list management and back office type work from the sounds of it.

Unfortunately from the sounds of it they had been discussing all the uncontracted young players and how hard it will be to convince them to stick around.

Hopefully the interview will be uploaded onto their website soon; still not there at the time of posting.

Got a lot of time for Harvs.:thumbsu:

Plus I suspect that he has a fair bit of empathy for Vossy, having been similarly rogered by Freo for another Golden Haired Boy.

Well, at least Freo had their man in the bag as opposed to our bunch of bumbling boobies who appear to have knifed the incumbent on nothing more than a hunch.

Dear god the interviewer was just plain terrible.
No idea.

Shaun Doherty: "What are you up to Leigh?"

LM: "What do you mean what am I up to?? " (clearly irritated)

SD: " I heard you want to be Chairman of the Lions, do you?????" ( in a somewhat accusatory and aggressive manner)

After that , Leigh took over, succinctly outlined the facts and didn't give the "interviewer" any more rope to make an even bigger idiot of himself. At the same time, took great care to ensure it was clearly understood that he was playing the ball and not the man(Angus) in his backing of the Paul Williams led challenge.

Probably not Koch-er for me to say this but bloody hell, Leigh would make a damn fine politician:thumbsu:
