Footy articles have been few and far between this season........... until the Crows finally get a couple of wins :$ The next bit of spin from an ambassador has been published

Adelaide Crows Camp: Collective Mind directors Amon Woulfe and Derek Leddie speak to Graham Cornes
Hahahahahahaha

The camp sounds like a weekend at Club Med

Collective Minds hung out to dry by everyone except the AFC

Best week of my life

Every rumour was false

The flag they were entitled to win and should have won

Richmond didn't play better, the Crows just played worse

The depths of delusion here rival the Mariana Trench

Maybe the Collective Mind guys are helping out Mr (and Mrs) Cornes where old mate Dank no longer can - similar levels of blind faith being shown by the old fool to these charlatans...

I don't know why they bother with these puff pieces. No one believes them and it just brings it back for everyone to remember how shitty it was. If they had half a brain they'd either ignore it when anyone mentions it or (which will never happen) go the full Mea Culpa route and regain some respect at the cost of some embarrassment initially. Long may they do neither.

Half of this is just what Graham said following the 1990 grand final. Still hasn't moved on

Gra Gra's column in the rag today - talk about reinventing history.
He was right with one thing though. The last sentence - well, it's only his opinion.
Had to look twice when it first seemed that he was defending that moron Geo Pell - in hindsight I don't think he was. Just used him as an example to illustrate his narrative.
But but ...... all the players who have left the AFC continue to state what a disaster the wnole camp thingo was. Guess it was just a media beat up and all fake news then
Poor Crows - they get such a poor run in the media, not like those nasty boys from Port who seem to be blessed by a kiss on the old feller by a fairy.
So unfair.

Anyone noticed the new approach taken by the Adelaide Fertiliser on footy coverage?

Now that Port Adelaide have secured a finals berth and the Crows are at the bottom of the ladder, what does our State's only daily paper do to help take their customers' focus off this dreadful turn of events?

Whether it is part of some sponsorship deal with the private school system or just the editor paying homage to his alma mater we now have a new footy focus - Inter-College Footy! Live coverage of games between the State's top private schools is now front and centre of the Fertiliser's footy reporting. Saints stunning win over old rivals PAC and Hearts blistering win over Rostrevor were promoted as top stories in the Fertiliser last night. This is the footy coverage that will keep the customers spirits up as the AFL Finals commence.

That and a never ending barrage of apologist fluff from Graham Cornes and others on why the end of season Crows camp was not the disaster that players and others thought it was. It seems the camp, the sacking of coaches and staff, the mass departure of players to other clubs and this years wooden spoon performance is all part of Roo's master plan for future dominance and Premiership glory the likes of which the AFL has never seen. Hell, even the sacking of Bryce Gibbs - the player the Crows moved heaven and earth to bring to West Lakes - with a year still remaining on his lucrative contract is now being played out as a tear jerker story of retirement and triumph with the Crows showing great heart by giving him a farewell game at Adelaide Oval against his former club.

But rest assured normal services will be resumed if Port Adelaide loses a finals game. Then the focus on camps, Inter college Footy and the glorious life and times of Mark Ricciuto will all be forgotten and Port and the AFL will once again be front page news.

BTW. Remember the days when the advertising for The Sunday Mail included the line 'A good read guaranteed'? They dropped that a long time ago. Unsure whether it was because the ACCC threatened them with action under the false and misleading advertising provisions or they just got sick of the long line of people turning up on the door step of their Waymouth Street HQ demanding a refund because they didn't meet their guarantee.

Newspaper circulation is in a death spiral and their actions are those of a desperate ex trying to cling onto a relationship that is doomed. Take heart that their chugging of the Crows and pandering to the pissant SA Great sensibility will be all for nought in a few years.

The coverage of the college football has actually lagged a long way behind both the Vic and WA press. Considering it's where most of the draftees come from these days, it probably should get half decent reportage.

Interestingly, I was reliably told by a colleagues son that PAC would kill the Saints this year because PAC had James Borlace as their out and out star. Perhaps things didnt go as planned.
