I read this too but I don't even understand how that works. I'm sure someone much smarter than me can explain, but if you have access to fast enough internet how does it matter?
I watched the finals series last year in London with Kayo and a VPN
Your IP address has location data stored within it. VPN is the general answer but a lot of the popular ones get added to a list and the service (Kayo, Netflix etc) won’t work with them setup at all.How would they geo-block in the same country (admitting I'm not super tech savvy here)? And if that's the case a VPN must be the way around it.

Time to set sail.

If you're living in Australia, wouldn't Kayo be cheaper than WatchAFL?Streaming services are increasingly detecting and blocking the use of vpn’s.
WatchAFL, I’m looking at you…
7Plus ?Probably not worth its own thread.
We holiday in Exmouth and h stream view AFL via Kayo and Starlink. Kayo cease streaming into numerous parts of Oz (including Exmouth) from March 3 this year.
Suggested alternatives?

Are you quoting Love Shack whilst explaining stuff to me?
Kayo = $40/mth or $480/yr (up from $35/mth)If you're living in Australia, wouldn't Kayo be cheaper than WatchAFL?
Thanks for that.Kayo = $40/mth or $480/yr (up from $35/mth)
WatchAFl = $229/yr
Last year I purchased a Giants digital membership includes Kayo for the whole year something like $200Kayo = $40/mth or $480/yr (up from $35/mth)

They will be streaming it starting this year under the new rights deal, like the FTA channel it will only be the 4-5 games per round.I thought 7plus doesn't stream the footy? You have to watch it old school through an antenna.
With VPN though I wonder if you can use this to see other gamesThey will be streaming it starting this year under the new rights deal, like the FTA channel it will only be the 4-5 games per round.

While it's a thoroughly dick move, I suspect they get more complaints about streaming quality in those areas so they're trying to shunt customers to a product that doesn't rely on the internet to save money on the support desk.Yeah still don't understand why Foxtel (or whatever they are called now) wants to stop some places in Australia from accessing Kayo.
If the internet is good enough in those areas, how does it affect them?
I used to live and do FIFO work in one of the affected postcodes and our internet pre-NBN was appalling, but since NBN had become serviceable at around 50mbps, more than enough to stream in HD.Yeah still don't understand why Foxtel (or whatever they are called now) wants to stop some places in Australia from accessing Kayo.

They’ve increased the price too. I’m actually gonna get rid of it as I don’t really watch too much sport apart from footy and cricket and even then not a heap of it.Probably not worth its own thread.

I remember the good old days when you got Kayo for $5 a month if you were a Telstra customer...
I was living in a shipping container in the Nigerian delta, and could stream WatchAFL over the cheap as chips local 3G - so I'm pretty sure Kayo can be streamed in remote Australian townships.I used to live and do FIFO work in one of the affected postcodes and our internet pre-NBN was appalling, but since NBN had become serviceable at around 50mbps, more than enough to stream in HD.

Might need to change your profile name to Northcoast while your at itWhile our home is still listed to receive Kayo I will be exploring options, certainly around Exmouth and if it works I too will give Kayo the flick.
