Anyone else of media’s vic bias in our sport. First every mediocre player in Victoria is a star whereas absolute superstars of the comp like Robbie Gray and Pav are often overlooked. Wasn’t a shred of media on the flag last year whereas even post grand final 90% of the coverage was Collingwood centric.
It’s arguably even worse in cricket. How many chances can hacks like Finch, Handscomb, Maxwell, Stoinis (yeah I know he is in WA now but was vic and is stars) continue to get games when spudding it up. Meanwhile people who actually perform like Shaun Marsh. Travis Head and Joe Burns are continually overlooked to promote the latest mediocre Victorian player (Will Pucovski) can be flogged senseless.
What is worse is flog footy commentators getting into the cricket coverage. Need to clean the slate of your John Ralph, Whatley, Nial, Maher types in favour of people actually capable of providing coverage.
