Bloody hell. Just read this on AusDoc in relation to the Aged Care RC - hope no-one has had to deal with this kind of rubbish regarding aged care services.

15 years ago deewrs ran disibility employment. The only feedback for consumers was an answering Machine.

Complaints were ignored.

Fun times ahead for me - I need a new referral for my specialist and the GP that did my original referral is on extended leave :(

Time to spin the wheel of fortune...
You should always have a couple of backup GPs: 1 in the daytime when the regular one goes on holidays, and 1 for after hours.

Good luck, hope you don't get the "Bankrupt" spin!

Well done to the Vic govt. Anyone who has watched a loved one suffer in pain and without dignity would commend this decision.

A controversial issue for sure. I hope it continues to be aimed at the right demographic in those who are terminally ill and in permanent unimaginable pain or discomfort.

Bad concussion? I literally nearly died and almost lost limbs. I'd take a bad concussion every day of the week.

They weren't sure the origin.
Glad you survived the ordeal. Not something anyone would wish to go through.

Mental health week. Hoping we all can reflect and help those around us who are seemingly flat and depressed. Those who are feeling flat themselves, please go get a health check and discuss your stresses or mental unwellness.

I didn’t hit bankrupt for the referral spin, but I hit it for a subsequent visit.

Went to the medical centre a couple of weeks ago to request a particular test.

GP: Oh I don’t do those tests, you need to go to a particular clinic for those.

The GP didn’t even check to see if I could be seen at this clinic (there are some criteria to meet to attend said clinic, largely because they perform what GP’s can perform). Also, the clinic was closed for Christmas/New Year.

I ended up booking an appointment at another medical centre the following day, where the tests were arranged within 2 minutes.

Complaint has been lodged with the first medical centre, and I’ll be intending to transfer files to new medical centre, who now has my custom for future appointments.

Unfortunately, things can be hectic around Christmas time, and management can often be less than optimal if one needs attention during this period. Sounds like you’ve found a more efficient clinic in your favour though, so turn a negative into a positive!

currently sitting in ED waiting on surgeon to make a determination on appendicitis.

Had a CT scan this morning and they sent me straight to ED.

in zero pain so interested to see what they say.

P.S ED's are a cesspool. I swear 95% of people dont need to be here.....
Curious to know the update on this. Pretty rare to get a suspect CT finding where the person has zero pain.
