Thread hasnt been updated in a while. But, have heard advertising on SEN for "plant medicine", TBH took a few listens to realise that its for medical marijuana and not medicine for your roses.

Mate I am in a dream team draft league with is on it (back issues), he turned up to draft day earlier this year with the oils, and some buds. yes we all tried it.. He said that there is a few hoops to jump thru but he swears by it. Good quality oil and bud.

anyone had any recent experience? I partake occasionally (home grown) moreso for relaxing and distressing from work and life.

I had an appointment to see if i was likely to get the oil,was approved and 50ml cost me $215 but no matter how much i took it gave me nothing it was too weak, lack of thc i think.
I have sourced other methods of pain release.

I have a 10:10 (thc/cbd) oil that's pretty cheap - I think I pay $55 for 30ml? It doesn't do much for me though, I can make my own oil that feels more potent.

I also have a couple of flowers - my biggest issue is rationing them and making them last as long as they're meant to.

I paid a stupid amount on the "medical grade" vapes over the last couple of months, the Volcano and the Mighty+.

For someone who smoked for decades before going down the medical path, these are a game changer. I've never much rated vaping before, I was never able to substitute combustion smoking. These new toys are getting me real close though. I'm considering going away for a few days and just taking the Mighty+, I think if it's all I had i'd be able to make the switch full time after a few days.

Is it good for insomnia/sleep?

Weeds always rocked me. Can drink 20 beers but the smallest amount of weed affected me 😂, paranoia the bad part. Is the medical stuff good enough to get you to sleep but not enough for the side affects?

For me the increased sleep is the biggest benefit of vaping (as opposed to smoking bongs).

You do short, sharp sessions at high temperatures, and once I get to sleep I sleep pretty well most nights.

No idea what this means but thanks, ill look into it! Need a fix that isnt prescription pills and OTC stuff doesnt work at all (melatonin etc)

I think it's worth a discussion with your GP... the problem is that cannabis is still so new as a recognised medical treatment in Australia, you're kind of at the mercy of whether your GP "believes" in it to either prescribe it themselves (if they've done the training) or to send you to one of the specialist clinics.

I guess that's a little funny when we're AFL fans on an AFL forum, and we have a really high profile premiership coach speaking about it a lot and normalising its use.

Totally agree with you on melatonin - I thought it was crap; I developed a mad fast tolerance to stillnox... I was at the point where, if I really couldn't sleep, the only option I had was taking 2-3 times my prescribed dose of valium.

If you were to go down the medical marijuana path, 2 pieces of advice - 1) speak to people you know about how they use it and how they get their best results (even if it's a stranger on a web forum!) and 2) don't go down the path of experimenting with other forms of consumption, just get yourself a quality vape, and start and finish with it.

After trying a few different vaporisers, over the last week I've settled on a routine that has me sleeping great, vaping 90% of the time (as opposed to smoking bongs), and using so much less bud.

I'm finding a pretty healthy routine with my med cannabis which is good.

I mentioned above that I'd picked up both the Mighty+ and Volcano by Storz & Bickel, who historically have been the leaders in dry herb vapes.

Anyway, I won their new portable vape, the Venty, in a Black Friday sale - I think I was one of the first people in Australia to get it from a local provider (you got it earlier if you ordered it in from Germany). I hadn't planned on looking at getting one til probably Black Friday in a year, but man I'm glad I have it - it's another level up altogether on the Mighty+. Highly recommended if you're in the market.

(By the way, if anyone wants to buy a Mighty+ at a good price, let me know!)
