1. What do you like about our Board?

decent discussions.
not to many annoying posters
talking about past players
bc's 426 bf trophy

2. What do you dislike about our Board?

not enough discussion/posting in general

3. Can you suggest anything that would improve our Board?

More people posting on the sub-boards
As been mentioned more organised threads for games each week

4. Any other comments you would like to add?

what happened to dee-molishon ?

1. What do you like about our Board?
- Decent group of core posters, not too many toddlers though a couple this year that might need to reined in.
- SM's Blog, not given enough credit.
- Jack Watts anything.
- The laissez-faire attitude of the moderators. ;)

2. What do you dislike about our Board?
- Not enough threads (shit side syndrome?)
- Tank-talk / Draft talk in April. Should be a ban.
- Premiership talk (cross that bridge...)
- Juice hate
- Optimists.
- Dez. ;)
- Having to scroll down so far to get to it. Lets have it higher up.
- We cop a fair whack from opposition supporters, not enough of a concerted effort to do likewise elsewhere.
- The word "potential". I'd like it censored.

3. Can you suggest anything that would improve our Board?
- Suggest to the Chief having the clubs in order of when they entered the competition, rather than this overly arbitrary alphabetical system in place at the moment.
- More threads.
- More Juice-love.
- Probably a few more older posters, I love you too Kiddies but we've lost a couple of our better posters in the last year and a bit. They need replacement. Is there a draft system in place? We'd be due a few priorities I reckon.
- Set threads after every game, one for votes, one for "slaps and sledges", one for discussion of coaching moves etc. Just something consistent so you know where to go to say what.

4. Any other comments you would like to add?

Ross Funcke.

I WILL END YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!

DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEATH!!!!!!!!!

Is he joking?

We'll find out one day.

:p

1. What do you like about our Board?

Pretty casual, good blend of posters and generally relaxed communication compared to some of the dedicated Demons sites out there.

2. What do you dislike about our Board?

In quiet times it can be damn quiet.

3. Can you suggest anything that would improve our Board?

It would be nice now and again if more posters took the time to add a little bit of rationale to their one line comments. As far as the site/board itself goes I'm pretty happy apart from being logged out too quick from no activity.

4. Any other comments you would like to add?

What ever happened to CowboyFromHell? He added some decent perspective.

1. Bearly any morons.
2. Not enough posters, to quiet. Also Draft Pick and PJ/Sylvia bashing threads.
3. Deal with info on no.2
4. N/A

He had that cool avatar of the hyperactive fat kid. Bring it back!!!

Instead of just having 'Melbourne Board' could we have it changed to 'Melbourne Football Club est. 1858' ?

Would look cooler.

I agree on that one. I'm as guilty as anyone with taking a thread off topic and then you end up with really good discussion in say the votes thread that I miss because I didn't really care about what I thought was just everyones votes.

A consistent line up of (using this week as an example):

  • Changes v Richmond
  • Melbourne V Richmond teams on a Thursday
  • Gameday Thread (which is always a great read after leading early and compounding)
  • Votes v Richmond
  • Slaps and Sledges
  • Hindsight 20/20 - What would you have done if you were Dean Bailey before the Richmond game (Could become a congratulatory thread if by some miracle win won a game)

Another thought.

Along the lines of that player thing we used to have, give everyone a player and each poster is responsible for a short match summary in the Change Rooms board of that player's efforts when they play.

I like this idea, as hopefully the "(insert player who had a bad game) has to go" threads will be diminished and it will all be included in the Slaps and Sledges thread.

I'm also a big fan of this idea. "Adopt a Demon" was fantastic when it was running smoothly and hopefully it will get some activity into The Change Room.

I agree, I said a similar thing on the zero trolling thread.

Maybe we could have a sticky thread for those who want to troll us, those who don't like to read that sort of stuff just don't go into the thread. Those who want to post crap just to incite or argue outside this thread can be banned.

I'm sure it would bring a bit more activity to the board & a bit of fun to those like Biff.

Thanks CK - I was not aware you had done this.

Deestroy, can I please suggest that you alter the wording of the thread: 'Zero Tolerance for Trolling' - which automatically scares off so many posters.

I prefer the wording of the majestic living-god-in-residence ODN on the Carlton Forum: Carlton Board Rules - Don't Say You weren't told.

Better still, may I suggest the approach they use on the Collingwood board: "Must Read" Board Guidelines: Criticism, from both Collingwood and opposition supporters is welcome. However it must be constructive. Blind trolls/criticism without any real content will be punished.

We have less to worry about in a way that either of these fora.

What do you think, please?

Since I just typed this up for a PM I thought I'd post it here as well for any opinions.

Here's what I'm thinking taking the ideas into account.

Pre-Match - Melbourne v whoever
Being the pre-match topic, first post having things like previous match up scores, maybe each teams injury list, maybe scheduling information. Put up Monday night/Tuesday morning.

Teams - Melbourne v whoever
Put up Thursday afternoon.

GDT - Melbourne v whoever
All the game day talk and chat. Put up the day of the game.

PGT - Melbourne v whoever
Post-game topic. Whoever is around at the time can create it as soon as the match ends. First post containing the scores and so forth. I think this can also work as a slaps & sledges topic without needing that title. Basically more chatty and organised than our current aftermatch stuff.

Votes - Melbourne v whoever
Put up sometime after the end of the match.

Does this fit what most of you have been saying?

Also BC is keen to get Adopt-a-Demon back up and running, so that should also occur.

Now to the trolling policy, I'm willing to change the wording of the thread to see what effect it has but I'm not so sure about a sticky 'designated troll' thread. How many would be interested in this?

Deestroy, my preference would be a change in the policy rather than a stickied thread.

For instance, Judas Pride over at the Carlton Board has started a thread where - rightly - he is acclaiming CJ to be the dud that we all know him to be.

Some Melbourne posters have waded into the discussion - and it is a 'hard' discussion. They are acquitting themselves very well, and it has to be said that the Carlton boys are doing their bit.

Please have a look at it. I would like to see more of this on the Demons board.

Moreover, you and Marns have still got the keys to the B-52s if things get out of hand.

Biffinator.
