anyone got any theorys on what happened to DL? paraded so well.. soft track? to much distance? i thought it was looking real good just before the turn when it started moving into 4th 3rd... great run by all the 3 place getters , unreal for high emocean connections

I would say soft track and distance together - particularly the latter - if it rocked up again on a dry track I don't think I would be steaming into it. Caulfield Cup on the other hand - would be massively keen.

It’s still ran 4th & looked the winner for a very brief couple of seconds with a few hundred metres left.

Some of the carry on is a little bit over the top, you would think the horse ran in the bottom half a dozen.

It was 3-1 not an odds on fav. They still lose far more often than they win at that price. Run was ok but just probably a mix of track, distance and weight vs ability brought it back to the pack more than most were expecting

Also the winner had a very high ceiling coming in and managed to run up to it

Given the winner got a 2kg penalty for falling in I'd say he would have at least got something. Probably not enough to stop him winning again today though. He won pretty easy in the end.

Who knows. Best Solution same weight got no penalty for barely holding on. I'd guess half a kilo

DL had plenty of excuses. 55.5 KG as northern hemisphere 3yo on ground its never experienced. Never really settled in the run.

Top weight - 3/4 wide the trip sometimes without cover - let go 1200 out to improve position; cruises up to them at the top of the straight - completely gaps them all when let go - looks out on his feet at the 150 with placegetters chasing no weight - kicks again and is running away from them on the line. A truly dominant performance.

Haven't watched it yet,listened on the work ute radio,old mate finally found the station with 2200 to go.

Realmy a metrop 20/1 plodding 5th - needed the 6th DSQJ to get up into 4th for the close to milly F4

Still haven't watched the replay but in the run saw it sitting 3 wide out the back thinking how the fook do you manage that Mark? If you've gonna sit wide at last do it midfield somewhere. But yeah, dominated the finish.

He sucked in thousands of punters who honestly believed they had $1000 in the bank.

Many of them had told their friends and already began planning on how they'd spend their money.

DL...to much weight for a start. Totally over-hyped....one of the biggest cash dumps in Cup History.
