Melbourne drafting blunders mount

I was filthy when North took Bastinac a pick before WC. He'll be a brilliant player

I still think Melbourne should have taken Martin.

Its accepted by all decent footy judges that selecting Fairybread Watts over NicNat was a catastrophic error by the Dees.

Now we see that they took the wrong Stingray midfielder last time round, with Ryan Bastinac giving Daniel Kerr a bath and winning plenty of his own ball while Tom Scully labours along, selected only because Melbourne can't bring themselves to admit they stuffed up another 1 pick.

They do appear to have gotten Trengove right but well, whoopty doo dah dey, my old Granny who went blind a few years back could have picked him.

With no winning culture in living memory and a team of misfits and hacks, its hard to see the Dees doing anything soon.

Even the few they have that show form, like Grimes and Trengove, will almost certainly bail for sunnier climes (or home) ASAFP.

Good to see Norf supporters up and about after after a truly great win against the cant travel Weagles, christ, even we beat them in 08 and 09!!

Honestly, I did not watch the Norf game, yesterday, I had just put a fresh coat on my back shed and watched it dry. speaking of backyards, have a look at your own before criticisin another clubs recruiting. Clearly noone drafted at North in the last decade has amounted to anything. Brady Rawlings - 2 time BF ROFL, :D says it all.

As for Scully and Watts, well, the judgement of players after two or three games is an phenomenon only actually accepted here on BF. More astute football judges with half a brain know better. Perhaps if I was waiting 8 years for my #2 draft pick to do something (Daniel Wells), I would be getting restless.

oh yeah man I'd give anything to have the cattle that Richmond has going forward, Martin and Cotchin and.....

2 finals appearances in 27 years
2010 kicks off with 3 losses avergae 61 points
starting a rebuild with compromised drafts

back in your hole mate

mmm and the Melbourne football club just reeks of success, proud winners of the last 2 wooden spoons, attendances in the bottom 4 for the last 3 years, currently zero wins this year and I can't even remember when your last flag was?

Back in your hole mate!

Back in your hole mate!

Your club is an absolute rabble. You'll be seeing more than 2 wooden spoons with your list of spuds mate.

We lost by 1 point last week and we won today. How's your season going?

Martin would have been 4th on our list, behind Scully, Trengove and Butcher.
We would have talked to him if we thought he'd still be available at #11.

After Round 3: Martin 63 possessions > Scully 51 possessions

I'm not even going to count the clearances, to save Scully from embarrassment.

It seems he's a tiny bit better than #11 or #1 for that matter

p.s. Who is this Butcher player you speak of?

After Round 3 - Scully 1 win > Martin - member of the worst team in the AFL...

Its easier for Martin to rack up possesions as being the best player in a team full of spuds....dont get me wrong, I think Martin will be a top line player when he leaves Richmond in two years and goes into a side with a modicum of talent behind it.

Scully has a few other decent young midfielders to compete for possession with. Apart from an ageing, underdone Ben Cousins, Dustin has no midfield competition.
Yes, Dustin is better than a Pick #11, and we knew we were no chance to get him after Scully and Trengove. Which is why we didn't speak to him.
Butcher was the only KPP we rated in the top 18, and Port snapped him up.
Not going to mention next weeks game, to save 20 of your players from embarassment.
Martin was a bit stiff not to get the captaincy at Richmond this year.

Good to see Scully's disposal count is already higher than Richmond's percentage.

I doubt he will ever leave, but if he does I don't think he'll be going to Melbourne, I mean what could your team possibly offer us?
