Then (with Cook at the helm) they convinced the council/government to upgrade their home ground, developed their financial / marketing / sponsorship / membership strategies ; and not least, restored some credibility and excitement to their onfield performances.

But no, the real key was getting a few members to ring up and offer to help out!
