I liked it better last year when not many people would show up and you could get photos with all the players. This year its so crowded that you might get one or two photo ops.

I walked around the ground a couple of times and would suggest that WCE supporters made up 20% of the crowd at the absolute most, but those that were there were very vocal. Half the Demons supporters weren't even wearing their colours, but you could tell they were Demons fans because whenever WCE scored a goal 80% of the crowd would go completely quiet and motionless. The majority of the WCE fans were at the southern end behind the goals and did a great job cheering on the Eagles despite having to stare into the sun for the whole game (Melbourne fans claim the north end because it's their reserved section). Was surprised to hear the Shoooo chant a few times. :thumbsu: Makes you wonder when Shuey hears it, if he too wonders if the crowd is booing him or yelling "Shoooo" in support of him.

Was at the game yesterday! I went with 3 mates who Go for the Demons, so was hoping we would win thats for sure. The demons fans were pretty good where we sat except for the constant yelling of "BALL", and then "FIFTY" everytime we got tackled. Became so common we all even started yelling it just for the hell of it.

Was great to see Nicnat,Kennedy,Kerr back out again, as i went the to bullies game the other week when they werent playing!

I was also at the game and had great seats Aisle 11 tier1 (just under the coaches boxes id say), near the benches.

The Melbourne fans... wow. I've seen some ludicrous fans at the footy but the mob I was sititng around take the cake. They were more entertaining than the actual game at times.

This one blokes heckling of Morton the entire game was absolutely gold. From the first bounce all game he would rip on his own. Especially when morton went to the bench. hahaha and when Morton scored that goal he shouts out 'IVE ALWAYS LIKE YOU CALE!'

Another classic was this bloke absolutely given shit to the 'off the ball' umpire.. the same ump who called a free kick against us from a whole 50m away. Anyway after that decision he got given given direct attention to by these ferals to overule more.

These guys have had a shit couple of weeks, they are going to lose scully, and dont have much to cheer about losing by 50 away from the G. Atleast they've got some good hecklers.

HAHA the crap morton cops from his own supporters was funny as! we had a guy near us yelling out when they put Morton in the middle " THATS THE WAY DEE'S PUT THE MUSCLE IN THE MIDDLE THAT' WILL WIN US THE GAME".Dunn also cops it pretty bad aswell, cant blame them though he is a spud. You had great seats by the look of it. We sat level2 Aisle 15 first row, They where great seats aswell, i like Etihad its not bad

Definetly heard the Shhoooooo chant, got louder as the game wore on.
Even my mates young bloke noticed it, as I was doing it the other week. He's only like 7 and said " Why are they shouting what you were last time " he thought they were booing so I explained the Shhooo and he loved it, started doing it himself but couldn't quite get the right player :D

Quite a few people did shooo around me. Was reasonably loud at the ground but was much louder on the replay. Seems to be taking off.

I find now that i'm in Melbourne and i buy General Admin tickets i'm closer to the ground so i tend to get a bit more vocal - not that i was quiet when at subi, i always tended to come away with a bit of a sore throat, but you certainly feel more involved when you're on the ground floor and you know the boys can probably hear you.

You could've introduced each of the fans personally to the players yesterday. Was eerily quiet at points - I took advantage to give some support to the boys (and advice to the umps ;))

Oh so they WERE doing the shuey thing? I was wondering about that! Sounded like a bit of angry booing on Tv, i was racking my brains thinking of who shuey had knocked out. :thumbsu:

Melbourne fans were sick brew. Apart from that Geelong game where our local supporters were insane, i would say that the melbourne group are more intense and feisty. Whereas the local group are all old and rather boring, but theres just more of them.

I rest my case with that advert for the grand final competition on telly with fitzy, anyone seen it? Asks a supporter from each club what they would give to go to the grand final... eagles supporter replies "i could knit you an eagles jumper?" Yes, she is old.

I heard a shooooo a few times, maybe 3ish, but to hear the Eagles chant made me pretty proud. Good job melbourne eagles fans.

The first time I heard it I thought he was getting booed. I said to my mate

"what the hell are they booing him for!"

Then I realised it was the Shooooo call :)

The guys stayed out of the ground for a good 10 minutes after the game too which was awesome. Couple of them high fived the people on the fence.

I was there, was 15700 people there (I'm sure that's what they said on the big screen).

Was quite unique, usually the home crowd us louder when it comes to holding the ball decisions an so forth but we were def louder.

The eeeeagles soccer chant was very loud. there was lots of red in the members stand but in general admission where I was it was majority west coast.

We have lots of supporters over here

Was next to the Eagles cheer squad, and once the eagles chant started, could of sworn I heard a Melbourne supporter shout "stop copying Collingwood"... needless to say, after he said it the chant got louder :D

Was there with a mate who goes for the Dees, who also abused the feck outta Cale Morton haha. Classic.

I'd say about 20-25% were Eagles supporters. I sat near the cheersquad in the corner, was great to see the boys play as I hadnt managed to get to a game all year. Naita's goal was sick too. He's like a giant Cyril Rioli.

Given our relative success over the last 20 years, I'd say it's more likely that it's Collingwood copying us. :D

This was my first ever game in Victoria and the first fan I saw at the station sported a Natinui wig, there were quite a few eagles fans around Etihad and indeed vocal inside the stadium.

I was happy with my vantage point on level two about 80 m out from the lockett end, very impressed with Etihad and loved the whole day.

Whilst the boys were not dominant they did enough to win comfortably. I found it interesting that the demons beat us in virtually all statistics except for free kicks, tackles and most importantly on the score board.

Gaff, Scooter, Adam Selwood and Embley were outstanding but it was Kerr early who was impressive though alot of people were talking about how he and several of our stars had quite games yet our boys were able to win by 40 points plus in Victoria.

The Shoo chant was gold and the little champion busted through a pack of demons eyes on the ball in complete control like the jet he is, glad the hammy isn't a worry.

Would have loved to have attended the after game function and savoured the win but time was not on my side.

I was dissapointed with the lack of Demons supporters, under 15,000 is terrible!

Level two at Etihad is the best place to watch footy full stop. I hate level one you feel so far away from it all

I remember going to games in the early 90's at the MCG and Princes Park, and during the whole game I could count the number of other people wearing Blue and Yellow on one hand. For some games I don't recall seeing any other Eagles supporters at all. (Not trying to suggest that I was the only fan in Melbourne back then, but just to say that we were a rare breed over here).

I was thinking about that during the game on Sunday, sitting there with my original 1987 scarf (looking very tattered now). It's really good to see so many other Eagles fans at Melbourne games. Don't see many people wearing the original scarf design, though.

God what I would kill for an original scarf. But my mid-90's scarf and I have grown attached to each other. It's like a good friend.
