Wasn't it 238k average and a peak of 290 something?
It was about that... Great stuff. AFL would cream themselves for those ratings in Sydney.

Wow i'm shocked. Those are wonderful ratings. I'm not sure eddie will place it against the AFL on friday nights, but you never know.

Yes the number is ok for League officals and they're getting air time but for a major network in prime time they are bad

I loved having it on at that time and I did watch it, however put it agaisnt any AFL game it will seriously get about <100,000 for a prime time slot is complete crap.
Eddie was on AW the week before the game was on and he stated they wont be putting it up against the AFL as it will get killed in the ratings, so back to the early morning time slot. If Melbourne is playing a Friday night game, they may have it on earlier. The reasoning behind showing this game was because there was no AFL on.

It's an awesome start!!! With more promotion and work it'll get larger and larger!
BUT NRL are ****ed! Can't believe they don't make it a gimmie in the contract that Melbourne games HAVE TO BE SHOWN PRIME TIME! AFL And the Swans get shocking ratings for channel Ten in prime time YET they are always on.. And you know what good on the AFL for that... Wish the NRL would follow suit.

Maybe for future the storm can play their first three matches on friday nights? That way it won't go up against the AFL (as it starts later) and extra promotional oppourtunities in showing the game live in melbourne.
Of course he won't. It would be caned into next year if he did. What they should do is fix storm at home rounds 1 and 2 when the AFL has yet to start and really go for it then before moving the slot when the footy starts because once the footy starts all bets in Vic are off.
Great ideas to 1) play Storm home games on Friday nights before the AFL starts, and 2) start NRL games early before the AFL on TV at 8.30.
I agree that you cant go head to head NRL-AFL on tv because AFL would dominate in VIC and NRL would dominate in NSW & QLD.
Both codes need to be smart about how they market and distribute their product in non-traditional states.
As a fan of both, I'd love to see NRL, AFL back to back on Friday nights!

The AFL does get beaten during the year on a Friday night, in total that is, usually Today Tonight and the Seven News would beat it overall.
Last night the highest rating show in Sydney was the *live* NRL with a 413k, btw- it was the only City to get the game live.
One thing that has dogge me for quite some time is WHY is the NRL (or AFL) on so late into opposition states.
The NRL was on this morning at midnight and the second game was on at around 2am........there was NO AFL on in Melbourne and even if it was why not start it at like 11 or 11:30pm.....it just seems strange to me as i would figure that whatever show it would replace it would beat in the ratings, i guess they don't think it would.
