I've been telling people at work that the Eels could be the team to watch if they make the finals for the last few weeks. They'll go alright.

I'm impressed with the Eels, but a few pointers,

- Enthusiasm will only get you so far, the Eels have so much youth and enthusiasm that they'll hit a brick wall soon and wont know what to do about it

- Lack of Prop depth. With Fui out and so many others injured, I just don't think they have the depth to take it.

That said, I really wish we had a match against them coming up. We'd put them back where they belong. ;)

The Storm have 3 losses with 5 weeks to go. The least losses in recent years by the minor premier are:

4 - Eels (2001)
5 - Roosters (2004)

Speaking of the Storm I have problem.

ATM, I'm an on/off Souths fan, mostly steming from their gutsy re-entry into the NRL, BUT being a Victorian living in Queensland and having a friend that goes for the Storm - they are probably that I should be supporting, I'm at odds over who I should really support. Should I become a Storm supporter, or stay with the Rabbits? I hate jumping on wagons so I want to be in it for the long haul.

Can you have 2 teams?

Why not. Tho from the media up here you'd think there were only 2 teams in the NRL and 1 in the AFL.

Sam Joe signs with Storms
Monday, 31 July 2006

Outstanding Kubin rugby league talent Sam Joe has signed a two-year contract with NRL competition leaders Melbourne Storm.
Sam Seriba Joe is the son of Fr Salatelu Joe and Mrs Flora Roseline Joe, from Kubin, Moa Island.

The 17-year-old centre will complete his Year 12 studies at St Brendan’s College at Yeppoon (outside Rockhampton) this year, with the contract in place for the 2007-08 seasons. He will live in Brisbane.

Sam attracted the attention of the Storm talent scouts at the recent Confraternity Shield, won by St Brendan’s College.

Sam will be joined by his St Brendan’s teammate Cameron Steel at the Storm.

Premiers West Tigers, Broncos, and Penrith also offered Sam contracts.

Father Joe, who signed the contract last Wednesday to give his approval, says Sam is “very happy and looking forward to it.”

“We are very proud of Sam, and hope that he fullfils his dreams of playing in the NRL. This is wonderful news for Kubin.”

Under the terms of the contract, Sam will be found a suitable traineeship or apprenticeship.

The contract also provides for full accommodation in a family environment in Brisbane.

Good stuff!

What time do they show the game no tellie.

In Melbourne, you prob wont see it on 9 till the early hours the day after.

Seeing as you live in Adelaide, i'm not even sure if they'd show it on normal TV? If you've got Foxtel, there's a good chance that you will see alot of the replays and the odd live match as well. :thumbsu:

Cronk has been great in my opinion. I was a bit worried about how he'd go but he has taken the bull by the horns and has just as much influence on the team as Mat Orford. Good to see, and I think he'd be talked about in Kangaroo team selections but he is realistically still behind Gower, Kimmorely (not in my eyes) and Orford.

Mate it was just my opinion that he won't play a big role for a while and i'll stick to that.:)
You used the 'n' word and thus will be proved to be incorrect. We shan't have to wait too long either.

What a game! Storm players were out on their feet in the last 15 minutes defending a few repeat sets from the Broncos but managed to hang on.
