That is something I've never realised.

When I went over to the Melbourne vs WCE game when we won two weeks ago, I was amazed at the support we had.

Our Melbourne supporters deserve a round of applause.

One of the few things I miss having moved from Melbourne to Brisbane is going to the games, and sitting with the cheer squad.

Going to the aftermatch function and mixing with the players gives you a terrific tribal feeling, particularly after a great win like today.

I have now got to wait until they come to play the lions to see them "in the flesh" and probably there won't be an after match function because of the small number of fans here they don't bother looking after us.

yes it does give them a big boost, as when the third quater siren went there were huge applause for the magpies players by their fans after a good third quarter. and it seems the home team could be lifted home from the home supporters. but to our vic supporters effort, they battled hard, made their voice heard and let the maggies have it! great win, and good vocice of support by all eagles fans at the telstra dome!! well done!!

carn the eagles!

Well done to our fantastic cheer base over east! Not only were we representing in great numbers today, but they seemed louder than against Melbourne. It was so refreshing to hear the Eagles chant dominate the Magpie Army lead by Joffa who looked like he was ready to pull some of his troops into the firing squad.

To have almost 40,000 people there and still be able to hear the Eaaaagglllessss come through was a blessing. Big up's to the Victorian Eagles supporters. It must have been a pretty hostile enviroment but they shone through with fantastic voice. Glad to see the boys go around and thank them after the siren.

thanks everyone, i really did my best yesterday.

actually, to be honest, both games this season, I've been amazed at our support. Especially compared to previous seasons, no idea where everyone has come from.

We had family friends who are West Coast Eagle supporters who live in Victoria.

They went to an an Eagles vs Collingwood game at Victoria Park when the cold showers oval passed as a AFL venue. It might of been the game where Woosha cleaned up Wright and we ended up winning comfortably. Their only advice was never to park your car with an Eagles bumper sticker outside Victoria Park!!

This day, the Pies didn't handle their defeat too well.

I always wonder about things like microphone placement - there have been many games at Subi where you barely hear a peep when the opposition put one through, but the cheers come through loud and clear on the replay.

I remember having a blue with a Carlton supporter on RSFA about this one day, he was bagging the Eagles supporters for being out-barracked by the Carlton mob at Subi. Despite the fact that it simply wasn't the case, at least where I was.

Still, good on you Eagles supporters for flying the flag in a pretty hostile environment. More power to you.

Now what I was really gobsmacked about was how quickly the seats on the non-broadcast wing appeared to clear after Disco's goal. Was this evident at the ground?

That was the day WC won for the first time at Victoria Park. 23rd June 1993, (I still have the tape) I thought Mainy was best on ground that day.
