MELBOURNE DEMONS! :)
We didn't play too well, lucky for us neither did Sydney and in the end we were probably lucky to get away with a 32 point loss!
Travis Johnstone, Clint Bizzell and Craig Ellis were the only "un-injured" players who didn't play. Johnno was obviously a late withdrawal and we saw Biz, Ellis and Vardy all walking around the ground. Febes and Wardy also made an apperance but they were just there for moral support I guess.
Ok well we got there about 10 minutes into the game, by that time we were down 21-8 or something similar and at one point they were beating us by nearly 50 points, but during the last quarter we came back increasing our score from 18 at 3 quarter time to 52 I think it was by the end of the 4th quarter, at one point we were only 10 points down and we thought we were gonna win but well yeah that did happen... :(
Anyways there were no really encouraging signs besides Powell who made his return and did pretty well playing only the 2nd half. Our accuracy has gone from bad to worse, with Greeny, Robbo and Neita all missing from pretty easy set shots!!! The other encouraging sign was again how well our young guys were playing, Armstrong did pretty well although he didn't get much ground time and Clarky did pretty damn well too, at one point he was even put on O'loughlin and did considerably well!! :) :) :)
Ummm thats about all I can remember, I was pretty pre-occupied with this cute little 3 year old boy who was singing to us :D... and other nice views!!! ;)
Over all it was a pretty fun day, hopefully we can pick our form up for round 1 and have a great season!

GO DEES! :)

These are not good sings for the Dees.

Our only win this pre-season came against the Hawks when they had 15 of their best players not playing!!

I know it's only early, but even I am stooping as low as to say that things look a little shaky.

I agree with you. It seems from what I have seen so far we have "2 teams".

In one team we play hard, apply allot of pressure, take good strong marks, and play direct football. This team is competitive.
The other "team" we have is one where no one puts pressure on his opponent, and everyone relies on everyone else to do the tough work. This team is likely to get thumped.

Of course during each game we could switch between the "teams" playing well in one quarter but **** for the rest... etc.. So we may win or lose depending on which “team” is playing” Make any sense???
:p :p :D :D

Yes thats exactly the problem, one day we are completely switched on and than we can do just about anything we set our minds to, but on other days we are totally off it, we don't try hard enough and like you said they rely on each other way too much. I think we need to find that thing that switches us on mentally and physically and just follow that pattern..... until we do that we are not gonna get anywhere!

GO DEES! :)

WTF? Yous were there? We went searching for you a few times and found nothing! Where abouts were you sitting?

The game was deadset ****house. I looked at the score at 3/4 time and was amazed that we were only 5 goals down - it felt just as bad as the Adelaide game. If we ended up stealing the win somehow in that last qtr it woulda been one of the most undeserving victories Ive ever seen I reckon.

The ONLY positive to come out of it was Stephen Powell. Absoloutely slaughtered in the midfield and sparked the revival along with Jeff White, Leoncelli and Adem Yze from the middle. Shame he got reported :( I think Jolly got reported as well. Both for striking.

All in all a pretty crappy day.

We were in the grandstand for the whole game, but we went down onto the ground a few times for a kick.

Where were you sitting?
