In a a bizarre set of results, Carlton did indeed defeat Melbourne twice in 2006 at the Today Tonight Dome.

But what has me puzzled is that Carlton fans have already pencilled their 2 % boosting wins against the red-legs...at Melbourne's home turf where they lost just once this year.

So I ask the masses/ferals/Parrots of the Big Footy community, will Carlton indeed beat the Dees twice again in 2007?

Round 15 - Carlton V Melbourne , Sun 2:10pm MCG
Round 22 - Melbourne V Carlton , Sun 5:10pm MCG

Voted 2-0 Carlton. But could be 1-1.
Blues will improve heaps from Last year, while Melb will stay around there mark / dip a little. So if the Blues had it over them last year, can't see much changing in 07.

BTW - Walker is 10 times the player and 20 times the person Sylvia is.

Melbourne deserve to start favourites in both matches as stated they play the ground extremely well, where's Carlton's sole victory there last year was against Essendon?

Carlton will get a good percentage boost from both wins against melbourne. The premiership points themselves aren't in question, the only thing that's in question is how much the Blues are going to win by.

Going on talent alone, the Blues should win by a combined 137 points.

Let me walk you through it. There are many reasons. Firstly the Blues just have more raw talent on their list than the Dees - it ain't even close. Secondly out KP forward talent usually make the Dees low-talent defender look like complete basket cases. Thirdly, the Dees have a growing collections of aging softiees (i.e. Bwuce, Gween, Yze), who don't like going for the hard contested ball. And finally the Dees only have one aging KP forward, which frees up several of our defenders to provide rebound. So the Blues defeating the Dees in 2006 was hardly a surprise. What was a suprise was than we didn't beat the Dees by well over 50 points on each occasion. I guess there's always an outside chance of the Dees pinching a win V Blues in 2007 - upsets always happen, and are a part of our game. :)

Carlton have recruited well and most likely will play finals in 2 more seasons they do have a lot of RAW talent and i say again RAW talent with all of them still going through pubity.Needless to say THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MATCH MELBOURNE ON THE MCG IN 2007.There is no doubt that carlton will win more games this year than last but they wont be against melbourne and thats a fact.

Yze I'll give you. Dee fans are just about fed up with him. ALthough as RJ reminds us, he did kick 40 goals last year as a part-time small forward.

However Green has actually gained a hard edge to his game, loves a tackle and has regained his lethal left foot (as witnessed in the NAB Cup opener with a 2 goals/ 1 super goal.) At 26, he is hardly ageing.

As for Bruce, well he as more talent in his finger nail than 95% of Carlton players.

I'm actually looking forward to facing Carlton in 2007 with their same old sardines combined with some fresh injections of duds.

Here is a list as to why Carlton will win 3 games again in 2007:

Bannister
Carazzo
Hackland
Cloke
Wiggins
Saddington
McLaren
Teague
Sultana O'Hairpin

It must be quite painful for you Parrot, to follow a team with the above garbage.

But you already got smashed in the NAB cup. We only get to beat you twice this year as hawthorn thumped you already.

Carlton can only beat you 2 times this year mate. You won't make the finals so there will not be another chance of a meeting between the clubs this year.

Bwuce talented? Now that is funny. His skills are...lets just say a bit average. He was going to be delisted/traded a few years back you'll recall. The Dees will never be able to take the next step with these kind of ordinaries on your list. If the Dees are serious about winning flags, players like Jamar, Holland, Bwuce, Gween, Yze, Godfrey, Miller and Carroll have to go, and be replaced by younger, more talented players, otherwise the 43 year flag drought will just continue indefinitely. I think the Dees hirarchy are more concerned with an "acceptable finish" rather than focussing on winning flags. :)

I'll take "Bwuce and Gween" anyday over Teague, Houlihan and Lappin. You really have no right to criticise others for being soft when your club recruits females to play for them.

Surely you're not still upset over 2000 when Green and Bruce defeated Carlton on their own as a pair of 18-year-olds?

Bruce be delisted or traded? Never happened parrot, you just pulling sh.it out your ass now. Yes Bruce kicks helicopters now and then, but Walker just cant kick, and you say hes full of talent. Going on that logic our whole list has more talent than your #2 draft pick. Green is not soft, he laid alot of hard bone breaking tackles last year, the only thing that let him down was his kicking, but he has that back now, and is so dangerous with his lethal left. Carrol was in the top 3 FBs last year, and was close to becoming AA. Jamar is 22 and you cant expect ruckman at this age to be setting the world on fire. Yze I cant stand, sure he can be good, but more often than not he goes missing, but wasnt the blues chasing him a couple of years ago? Holland is too 1 dimensional, can beat the big FFs on his day. Godfrey is a better version of Walker, but only depth for us. Miller is also a dissapointment, looked damaging 2 years ago, but ND changing him from forward to back and then back again has severly hampered his development.
Anyway its good to see the #2 draft pick playing back pocket last night. So damaging from there.

To be honest I just don't view the games V Dees as that important to the Blues development. While 2 easy wins is always nice, we really need to defeat more talented opponents on a consistent basis, if we are to continue our rapid development. :)

I love the Dees but can acknowledge we have a few morons on our list such as Godfrey, Holland. However Green is a fair player, Bruce an elite player and Carroll a mature age sensation at full back. The only reason the Blues defeated Melbourne last year was because poor coaching, **** finishing, a poor attitude and playing at the Dome which is a joke of a playing venue. Had the MCG being available in round 1, we would of belted you. Melbourne is the best team at the MCG. Carlton has improved and will get better but not at Melbourne’s stage yet. So Parrot you made some captain obvious points but I have to class you as a nimrod.

TD is no excues. The fact is that what happened is what has been happening for years now. The players get ahead of themselves when they play a rabble side, and go in thinking all thay have to do is show up and theyll win. Carlton didnt beat Melbourne, Melbourne beat themselves with their mindset. We are far superior to your disgraceful outfit, 9 mill in debt, captain wants to kill his own brother, pick a dud at #2, continuesly on the bottom. Go over our past 10 years and youll see that this is a bad habit we have. We lose the games were expected to win easily.
Fact parrot, do some research and youll see that this is true.
