Good luck to Carroll today. Would love to see him do well. But wouldn't it be nice to have a club where a bloke has to bang the door down in the twos for a couple of months before getting a game. It's been 8 days since we were all saying pIcking him up was a wasted pick.

I like the look of Carroll but he doesn't seem likely to be an AFL level mid yet, does he?

Never had more than 20 touches.
Never had more than 3 tackles.
Never had more than 4 clearances.
Never had more than 8 contested possessions.

Looks more like a winger from the stats but he's still young I suppose. Last week in the twos he had 28 touches including 14 contested, 8 tackles, 6 clearances.

Hope that translates because he seems to have good attributes.

I think we should cut him some slack - we talk about players having to play different positions and not getting any continuity.

Carroll was starting sub in 6 of his last 11 games with the Blues and was subbed off on 2 other occasions and when he was on the field wasn't generally playing in his preferred position.

Hopefully he gets a bit of a run at it over the next few weeks (oops bye next week - there goes that theory)

He's 21 and been playing primarily half forward or sub due to how stacked Carlton's midfield was.
