Why? He's trash and that's being kind.
Has done pretty well for Collingwood...

And on Nicholson, he isn't that bad, certainly deserves spot in your best 22 at this time of year (not trying to bag your first 22, just saying it is guys like that who should be playing, as they have shown promise).

S. Buckley is shit. Nicho is not, no more comparisons please.

You cannot be serious? He's pretty much a carbon copy of Simon Buckley, you can have all the pace in the world but it means absolutely nothing if you cannot kick and he cannot.

Sure, he's been a terrible kick in the past - but I've seen a lot of improvement in his kicking.

Nicho's ball use this year has been much improved. It was never his kicking that was the issue. It was his decision making.

He brings a lot to the side. Pace, hardness, a penetrating left foot that will keep improving. He is a big part of our future going forward.

Just like Nathan Jones was a rubbish kick who should have been delisted yeah?
I like Nicho but if we used that reasoning we'd never get rid of anyone. Jones' improvement over the last few years has been crazy.

No it was his kicking, it's shit and if he can improve it then great but it would need to be a substantial improvement and I have doubts he has that in him.

It's extremely rare that you will see somebody that was a poor kick become a very good one, Nathan Jones for the example.

I hope he can though.

But Jones' issues were all decision making.

Nicho's issues were purely a timing thing, players - especially when adjusting to a new game pace - sometimes have fluctuations in kicking performance!!!

Look at Watts against GWS on the weekend.

No, it's not his kicking. I have witnessed him score some beautiful goals from outside 50 on his left. I have watched him consistenly kick a footy 60 meters and hit targets at training. He can kick a footy. Does he occasionally botch it, miss a target, or make a bad decision? Yes he does. But nowhere near as much this year.

We'll have to agree to disagree on this.

I'm with Spirit here. While he's far from being the best kick in the league, or having the perfect technique, that's not the problem. His problem is the same faced by Jones, Blease and any other quick young player you can think of. He's been told to use his pace to break lines, but he's still building the experience, nous and decision-making skills to quickly decide when he's about to run straight into trouble. He looks good when he breaks a tackle and runs around the bloke, but when he doesn't it's a turnover and he looks stupid. Give him time and his skill will be visible more often as his footy smarts grow - just like we have seen with Jones.

Call me crazy/blinded by my support for the MFC but I really think we are a chance of knocking off Adelaide today.

They do not play at the MCG all that often and have an ordinary record there against us. For some reason, we seem to match up well against Adelaide too (we all remember last year's flogging). I think the boys will really get up for Green's last game. The Suns/Blues game showed last night if a side is just 5-10% off their game, ladder positions are irrelevant.

I'd like to say I'm confident of a win...but I'd be lying through my teeth.

As Dee Believer said, our recent record against you and at the G in general is very weak, and our form over the past month or two is barely top 8 standard. At some point we must turn it around but I'm not at all confident that it will be this afternoon.

Here's to a fair contest with minimal injury to either side. Regardless of the result keep the faith Melbourne board :thumbsu:

I must say that even on the other side of the world, Twilight games have annoying timing. I work from 8pm - 7am and then normally sleep except the game will now start at about 7:30am!!! Afternoon games (can watch during work) or night games (can get a bit of sleep beforehand) are better.

A win today will see us leapfrog the Bulldogs.

That means we will go from having picks 3/4 to having picks 5/6 while the Dogs will get 3/4.

It also means we will be a certainty to be forced to take Viney at pick 5, instead of stealing him in round 2.

I hate that the MFC are once again in this position. I am actually feeling good about todays game. The Crows are not as good as advertised and do not play the MCG well.

Still, they are playing for a top 2 spot and the home final/double chance and will be here breathing fire with so much to play for.

A win today would be a massive boost for Neeld, the coaches and our young team.

I hope we flog them, and let the chips fall where they may as far as the draft and Viney goes.

Twilight time has put me off going so as it means not getting home to past 9pm...will watch in great interested on the ipad though :D

Since when do the Dogs have a pick right after their first one? I thought that they only got a mid first round pick for Ward.

I hope we win, get 5/6 and take Viney with pick 5. I don't care about picks, a win today will mean a lot more than stealing Viney in the draft. It will mean a lot for Green, who deserves to go out with some success, it means more for the players who will take this game into pre-season, and it will mean more for us. It'll also be a finger to the afl, their investigation, and the vulture's in the media.

Since always, they have a pick right after their first, they don't have a mid round selection.

But who cares about draft picks or where we draft Viney, lets smash the crows like we did last year.

I like him and don't have any great insight into his kicking, but after this thread Nicholson is a certainty to shank his first kick into the members.

No Chance we win today.
Adelaide have to much to play for.
I expect Walker and Tippett to kick 10 between them.
Should lose by between 50-70

Good to see that a lot of people want a win, and **** the draft picks.
4 points to play for, I honestly don't think we'll win, but geez I'm heartened after seeing GC knock off Carlton last night. It must be a big factor for the players to see that too, makes you realise that on the right day just about any team can beat any other.
