Not projecting are we Jim?Melbourne may have been a top 4 side last year and a flag threat, except for one thing...........or did that one thing actually that twice!!! Imagine letting that happen twice!!! Must've made you sick to the guts.

Never hungry enough in those years (nothing like a premiership hangover (1988) to kill the hunger), or in the case of 2000, not good enough despite a huge run during the year. 1988 was similar to what you should've done in 1987. Wouldn't have liked your chances if you got through that year though. We were pumped that year and might've given you the hiding you ended up with the next year. In the case of 94 it was the catalyst for that wonderful year in 95. Didn't care a rat's losing the last game at Optus or the 105 points thrashing, which we reversed in round 21. When you're sh it you'e sh it. You can't get to excited when your sh it. At that point any win was a premiership.Yeah, just like it must have hurt when we beat you in the last ever game at Optus Oval, thrashed you by 105 points at the MCG in 2004, pipped you in the 2000 QF thanks to a couple of 18 year olds, beat you in the 94 QF when you were equal flag favourites and we were 7th and beat you in the 88 PF to prevent your defense of the premiership against Hawthorn.
I know that the premierships you won more than make up for any of that, but you could have been ahead of Essendon on 17 flags if you'd only got past us in 88, 94 or 2000.

Not predicting that again. I'm sure Melbourne are waiting for us with baited breath after 2006. It's one side that will take us seriously. Not projecting are we Jim?
