What about Bate? Do we keep him in the side or drop him to VFL? He just doesn't look right, shanked kicks and just... isn't doing much.

I hope Sylvia is ready next week. Will be so stoked when we get Morton back too.

Be proud of your boys, what a fantastic game....the umpiring was a disgrace, but hey, you were playing collingwood...what else is new!

Sorry you lost Dees, but you have some good kids coming through, brighter days ahead for sure..:):thumbsu:

great effort from the boys , should of won but umpires were awful , what it really came down to was skill errors and decision making , but with the youngsters out there you have to expect that at times , positive is that we can only get better and learn from it . the kids showed alot of promise and when when get our best side on the ground we will be competitive , our link up play reminded me of the daniher years

**** I feel so pissed off and sad for you guys! You guys should be very proud of your boys today. I can't belive how gutted I am. I have never felt this way for another team before. It must have been because you guys were versing Collingwood;) But seriously well done today guys, great effort. Wait 2 years and you blokes will be a force to be rekoned with I rekon:thumbsu::)

Congratulations on a great performance.

Was devastating to see you lose. I actually did what Ricky did and thumped my hands on the ground a couple of times.

Promising signs.

I think the big question should be where was this last week? Melbourne played two different styles of footy in 7 days. One positive/one negative. Such a big difference in one week is amazing and I'm really shocked at how you guys played today. Must have got a big kick up the bum mid week as this was almost 2 different sides in comparison...

The thing that hurt's most about today's game is how much the youngsters deserved the victory and it was taken from them before they could blink. It was ment to be a fairytale finish, and they put in the exact effort needed to win and they we're denied of the success they'd earned. It hurts alot more when you think about how they must feel, they did so good and they needed to be rewarded. I feel so bad myself, but can't imagine what the youngsters feel. They needed the win to help build their overall confidence, and that loss is certaintly gonna hurt. Hopefully they bounce back with a vengeance next week when they have the home-crowd behind them.

(I also hope people turn up next week after today's effort, EVERYONE should be at the G next week!)

Really good effort by you guys today, lots of promising signs. If it wasn't for the umpiring you would've taken the 4 points against a team that will finish top 4 this year. Hopefully Richmond can put in a similar effort against the Dogs tomorrow but I won't hold my breath.

He wasnt great (again) but I wouldnt be making too many changes next week.

Mayve Sylvia in for either Dunn, Bartram or Bruce?

G'day all.

Watched the entire game yesterday and was absolutely gutted you didn't get over the line. Your agression on the footy, disposal the majority of the time, pressure when you didn't have the footy and spirit were fantastic and I can only imagine how proud you must all be of your club.

Some of the rubbish umpiring decisions were dissapointing, as they ruined what was a tremendous game (such as holding the ball against Heath Shaw not given), and had you guys taken a few more chances when you had momentum, obviously, the 4 points would have been yours. Bennell mustn't have got much sleep last night.

Overall, dissapointed? Sure, you must be gutted. You had their number all day, and had a great chance to pinch it at the death. However, as great as it would have been to beat Collingwont, this year isn't about Finals for Melbourne, and IMO worrying about how many victories you will get is a no-no too. It's all about continuing to develop and improve a very young and exciting list for a future tilt at the flag.

If I was a Melbourne fan, after yesterday, considering no Sylvia, Morton, Jurrah, Wonna and the like, I'd be holding my head up high and be proud to call myself a Dees fan.

Bad luck guys, but fantastic performance. Now you need to back it up against Adelaide next week.

I think yesterday just showed that if Jack Watts can live up to the hype and take the KF role he has the likes of Pettard and Green around him to kick a winning score.

Shaw was holding he ball...worst call

You guys are coming! make no mistakes about it. Building something special.
