Melbourne's future- promising or maybe not?

I have heard a lot of comments congratulating the Dees on making it into the GF. I have also heard a lot about a promising future in store for them.eg young players .... but is it going to happen?
Isn't it interesting to see sides compete in Grand Finals, only to fall off the pace the very next year. Kanga's prem. 96 followed by pummeling in 97' prelim final. Ess. 93 prem.(youthful too)didn't make finals next year.
Of course there are success stories NM98-99, but there are a fair few nightmare stories. In my opinion, Mel are very similar to Bris. last year. Fantastic momentum built up in the lead up to finals but it wasn't able to be repeated following year.
For Melbourne and Gutnick's sake, I hope they don't suffer next year as they did in 98. What a crazy rollercoaster ride they've had!

I think it will be interesting to see where Melbourne are heading. Although, I think they will be good in the future. Going from 14th to 3rd on the ladder is a great achievment. I say that the only way is UP.
