Then you see the team do well in all other interstate games and wonder whether the team is trolling us (I know they're not, don't @ me).

Let’s break it down in my case

$100 for a Melbourne concession membership

Amazingly got Geelong thrown in.

So far this year (travel amounts for there and back)

Vs Geelong - 5hrs on PT to watch a 78 point loss (if it wasn’t for Murphy Reid, this was a waste of time)
Vs Melbourne - 2.5-3hrs on PT to watch a dismal loss in a game we should’ve won
Vs St Kilda - 2.5-3hrs on PT to watch us not even turn up + a mental health implosion post game

Gather Round - $1400 for flights/accomodation + a tweaked nerve in my lower back + 90 mins train and bus to Barossa (10 goal win)

So far this year (not including food)

$1500
13-14 hrs on PT
2 hours on plane (there and back)
Tweaked nerve in lower back
Mental health implosion

All to see 1 win in SOUTH AUSTRALIA and 3 weak as piss efforts in Melbourne.

Cost/Time/Benefit is in the negative.

Look at who we’ve got in Melbourne in the last 2 games

Collingwood
Bulldogs

****!!!

You're pretty lucky then, those Pies and Dogs games are going to be the best of the year.

You take the cake.

I downgraded from Melbourne membership to whatever the non-game-attending membership is when I moved to the country so that's $50 + 2 x GA tickets @ $30 each

Geelong - 4.5 hours driving
Melbourne - 1.5 hours driving, ~ 6 hours PT
St Kilda - didn't go as getting to night games are nigh on impossible, but I still had to moderate you lot so didn't escape the trauma

Would do it all again but oh for a crumb of winning.

The only regret is the mental health implosion.

The rest, that’s the joys of following a team for 30 years.

Serious feedback.
Transperth has stopped direct trains from Freo to Optus
I’ve emailed Transperth and they stated it was an Optus decision.
Emailed Optus who were furious and put it straight back on Transperth.
I use a wheel chair to get my 89 year old mother to the games. We catch the train from Freo and having to change trains in Perth is a huge inconvenience.
Please ask the club to advocate for direct trains again.

With membership packs, I feel I get the same stuff every year, and from a quick look it appears the Freo faithful are identical at 5, 10, 15 etc etc.

I think if they mixed it up, and you got a skarf every 5 years, a new t shirt every 10 years etc etc, instead of the same thing repeatably I think it would benefit a lot of members.

Cheer squad needs an overhaul, they're currently horrible and do nothing to create an atmosphere.

Need to reach out to the St Pauli ultras to teach them how to get the place rocking, the club and their identity is everything FFC should be.
That would require us dropping Woodside, which the club is clearly opposed to and most fans are too, and moving back to our spiritual home.

This is nuts, they always used that secondary train line at Freo and it goes straight through to Perth and the same line goes to Optus.

It just takes one leader.

That someone prepared to get on their feet, turn and face the crowd instead of the game and start the next chant. Armed with a never ending litany for the mob to chant.
That was me in Melbourne from 2010 to 2018.
I grew out of it and have lost the passion for it a bit, but its not that hard to coordinate.

We haven't had this yet right?

Ive been struggling to think of something but the WA vs SA u18s game has jug my noggin.

What are the clubs doing / able to do to address the absolutely dire state of talent production out of the state? SA is producing twice as much talent consistently and I don't think there is a genuinely good WA developed mid under the age of 22. Its absolutely dire

Mid-July.

And yeah, something needs to be done with the junior talent.

There is little incentive for the clubs to do anything, and the AFL doesn't care about WA development. SA development is in a similar vote.

SA do look very strong this year, but I do wonder if Sharp skills are good enough for the AFL. (Maybe a slightly upgraded Devon Robertson)

Last chance.

Will be collating some of this over the weekend to submit. (Questions have to go in earlier).

Will look at reaction numbers as well as content. So hammer that like button.

I'm assuming the winning question will be why don't we rename our club to Freo McFreoface?

(Jokes, it'll definitely be Coldplay)

I’ll put a few things forward.

I'd like to see a few reaction videos filmed of the goal scorers to play with a theme song, unique for each. So Treacy kicks a goal, a montage of Treacy taking marks, celebrating goals, music plays.

I don't know if they can justify it as being marketing/promotional material and pay a royalty every time it's used at the stadium - but Optus Stadium paying the player for their likeness might be a means of both encouraging players to kick the goal but also pay them some extra around the cap.

I agree that our Cheer Squad needs a lot of improvement. My partner and I are Cheer Squad members and have witnessed the numbers dropping and the amount of cheering lessening.

Maybe you could suggest that the Club do a Promo possibly using one of the players along the lines of the “Uncle Sam needs you” stuff to get more people into the Cheer Squad. There aren’t enough people there plus many of them barely make a sound. The lack of people looks terrible on tv and we come across as a boring lot.

The Club may want to offer some new incentives to new Cheer Squad recruits to improve the numbers as many aren’t interested in joining because of the no alcohol and no opposition guests policy. I also think we need more banners and images of players to hold up.

I don’t know how organised and structured other Clubs’ Cheer squads are but they certainly present better than we do and we need to be better.
One way to incentivise Cheer Squad members could be maybe providing the opportunity for a few to have rooms access or team meet up every home game? It can be something a member can apply for if they will be attending and then allocated by lottery each game? I'm sure lots more members will be interested then. I also think that maybe doing targeted recruitment of Cheer Squad members to the younger demographic (Junior members?) might be worth thinking about too.

Key Items that were discussed.

1. Open to changing goal songs. Had a lot of feedback that Coldplay isn't working, and will look at alternatives for the new season.
2. Volume and sound is something they're constantly working on with the venue. Some areas are louder than others.
3. Took on board that we need time to 'breathe' between quarters, rather than being bombarded constantly by announcers. Actually felt they may have done something on this for the Derby.
4. Ticketmaster. Acknowledge the issues, but not something they will be moving away from for a variety of reasons. Primarily security and cost saving. Open to a 'pay extra' for a card, but won't be barcoded or grant access.
5. Will take feedback on seating issues and changes. Not happy with their service, but are stuck due to AFL contract.
6. Plans to improve communication and initiatives with the interstate members Tonga Bob watch this space.
7. looking at ways to work with the City of Fremantle for AFLW match days
