It's problematic if you don't know the full story behind the scenes. I think any challenge to the club narrative will eventually get a similar response as the members who question it, only sees the face of it. How much will the club reveal in these meetings will be interesting going forward. Will this advisory group be subject to an NDA?

I'm thinking about applying but not sure if I have a good feel on what the current membership base actually wants other than wins and premierships. I just dont think there is enough members out there that want any significant change at board level. Most just want to be involved at gameday and that's it.
The focus groups ran 2019 ish didnt require an NDA, however disclosure was quite open. DAVIES commentary on Boak was very open and honest.

Their commentary on Merret was also very open, at that time Merret was a lock to come to us. Shame for him he back flipped, I bet he regrets that.

What will this offer?

Gane day experiences. How could it improve?

Merchandise questions.

Port club.

That would be my guess. Highly unlikely they will seek anything footy related.

This group of 'leaders' have a long history of pretend consultation. i wouldn't waste my time, I wont this time.

yeah the best way to get members to never make any change is to regulate their ideas into an official bi-monthly group lead by Matthew Richardson

Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Unfortunately genuine or not this admin have done their dash with regards to apparent olive branches. You simply cannot under any circumstances trust them or their motives.

They have to go. It's too late for platitudes. Don't be fooled by this shit. They saw they almost lost their patsy board spot to an outsider for the second time in a row and now they are making disingenous outreach to keep the wolves at bay.

I filled out the application, but did so in a way that made it very clear I wanted to do big picture stuff re marketing, as well as small picture stuff - my 1,000 little things project and the compounding benefit of them, that I have previously mentioned on here and previously to the club. I expect it to spook whoever is doing the initial assessment of the applications, so it wont progress.

I put in mine.

I found it a bit frustrating to be delivered the questions one at a time. I ended up repeating myself a fair bit because I had mentioned something in an earlier question that was then relevant to a later one.

I felt the same. Spent half of the first question explaining my history as a Port supporter and then the next question was entirely about that

I specifically didn't mention anything footy related for that reason. I don't think they want to be told how the players should play, I think it's much better to focus on branding, communications, member experience, that sort of stuff.

I think anything related to the footy department coming from members needs to be only considered provided the person suggesting it has a background in working with high performance athletes.

In saying that, we have Richo and Cos Cardone on our footy committee who have precisely zero experience to my knowledge of working in those areas, yet those two play pivotal roles in the administration and direction of our footy dept.

For that reason alone, I don't think anything should be off limits.

Well now I NEED to get on to stop your Pirates campaign.

Not to mention last year's $122k leadership consultant.

Just went to w***ernomics at the fringe and learnt all the new corporate speak that achieves nothing in reality.

That one in particular is definitely worth teasing out and discussing. I think it's fair to ask what processes were run that led Port to hiring a Club director's consultancy firm with regards to leadership of a men's sporting team.

My understanding is that Empowerment Global is no longer involved in the men's program (not sure about the women's). I know there was a period where they looked at bringing in Arnfield from Leading Teams but I don't know what they ended up doing.

The irony was that they moved on from 'Empowerment Global' because they wanted to move towards an on field empowerment leadership program that was player led, not daddy directed.

They stole their ideas from Holly Ransom. One of the guys even uses the title Chief Disruptor and Strategy Optimisation Evangelist.

Don’t take it personally, mate. I didn’t get one either.

Most can't be bothered to vote so hard to argue with that. With an active membership Hinkley would never have lasted so long.

I received mine but don't have the patience or diplomacy to be involved in something I think will be tokenistic.
