I didn't go to the members day, but from what's been written here, its not at all suprising that the players were like that.

I went to training with Blues_Girl pretty much every week last year, and most of the time, there were a few players who made an effort to talk to you and always struck up a conversation with you & some wouldn't even acknowledge you when you said good luck or whatever...
But some (in my opinion anyway) always walked past you like they were too good to speak to/sign something for a fan.. or whatever.. Wasn't just us regular's at training, they sometimes didn't sign stuff for kids.. That's just. wrong.

But with whats been said about the Port Adelaide players, I'd found to be true too.. Pretty much all of them went out of their way to talk to you/sign something/have a photo with you..

It'd be good to see Adelaide do the same thing with their players as what Port Adelaide has..

yeah I've found that they've done that at training loads of times. So I just refuse to really ask them to sign anything now. As I said, Aidan Parker is always happy to talk no matter what, but the same thing can't be said for the rest.

I remember once that Robert Shirley told some kid to sign his guernsey himself. Thats cruel, the look on this kids face was heart breaking. They should take a long hard look at themselves.

They think that because they are in the public eye, they are better than everyone else and deserve star treatment. To me they are just people who play professional footy, nothing more.

If it's as bad a picture as you paint, my speeding little Radar, then it's not too hard to work out why they're playing so poorly.

They have lost touch with reality and need bringing back to earth. Without members there is no footy club.

As you quite rightly say, there is nothing special about them (apart from their ignorant manners). They are nothing more than just people who play professional footy, and get paid far too much money for doing it badly.

Now I wasn't at the Members' Day (and I don't think I have Kristie's charms ;) ) but personally I've never had any bad experiences with any of the Crows players. Everyone from Macca, to Bodey, to Shirls, to Stevo no. 1 and Stiffy etc have been most cordial and friendly in all my meetings with them, willing to answer any of my questions, sign anything or just have a short chat.

All this stuff about Port's players being more supporter friendly is pretty ridiculous (just in my opinion), I'd say the Crows boys would be no more or no less available to their supporters on the whole (maybe they just had a bad day?). Anyway, I can only base this on my experiences.

Well, maybe its my charm, wity personality or just plain good looks - but I had no trouble with any of the players at the family day. I got plenty of autographs and photographs. EVERY player I spoke to was friendly and approachable. In fact I thought there was less people there this year and so it was EASIER than usual to get near the players.

This was the first members day that i've been to but I agree with you MarksGirl- I got tons of photos with the players and all of them, including Rhett Biglands who someone mentioned refused to sign stuff, were kind, friendly and funny. Even got a bit of a hug from some of them- what more could you ask for?!?!:) However, I have to admit that I was a bit disapointed that they split so early, I was hoping to speak to a few more players but ah well!

hahaha it is a well known trick that the players bolt out the back door after the guernsey presentation. They do it every year. But in there defence, if they went out the main door they would be hounded for autographs and they wouldn't be able to leave! I have never had any issues with any of the players at the family days.
