waislitz, Korda, holgate would be the favourites to go with Ed at the same time.

Works for me. All these millionaire/billionaire types might have served their purpose at one time, but they just strike me as being totally complacent and out of touch. It’s definitely time for some fresh, dynamic new faces to replace the fat cats.

He seems to think spying on an incoming presidential team is the right way to transition. That was the Obama style.

So you expect that Ed’s spy network inside Carlton will inadvertently stumble upon our incoming Presidential team colluding with the enemy? 😯

So they can Stream the 2nds Games?

and

They can Charge People to go to Vic Park
Every other club charges entry Dave. We’ve had it pretty good for a long while now being able to watch our home VFL games for free.

I think the problem with Eddie is that he sucked all the air out of any discussion about the Pies. No one else had a chance to talk about the club generally except for bucks and malthouse. I dont see that as good.

btw I was sceptical about the sucession plan because it was obvious that malthouse wouldnt do it.... and buckley didnt want him there. It's hard not to criticise a president who puts together an arrangement like that.... but malthouse left and life went on. The main problem then was that collingwood people wouldnt let it go. I remember the forum here went for years talking bout why they pushed malthouse out etc etc.

And we'll do it again. People will still complain about eddie and he's going...he did the right thing and went out the door... lets find someone who can do a good job and move forward.
The arrangement existed because he was too chicken shit to sack him. If it was up to him and bucks under performs next year, he'd sign bucks up for 5 years, 2 years as coach and 3 years as director of coaching and bring in Sam Mitchell.

More games at VP rather HC?
(Say yes please)

This info was provided by Woodlands-Thompson in the context of our women’s teams.

The members’ forum is tonight (Monday 14th Dec)

Are you expecting any surprises?

What questions do you want answered?

(Quoting OP) ... that would be a “yes”

In all, as a member, the forum answered questions l had, so it gave me some clarity particularly with the trading of Ad's, which seemed to be the never ending question, and our TPP. Was interesting to hear that a few clubs are in trouble with their TPP. So maybe we wont be the only club trading out a "big name" player or two in the coming trade periods.
I did like hearing from Bucks that the players have returned in great shape, and have started their preseason a week earlier. Also players getting together, on their own accord, to train in small groups. Very pleasing to hear.

My ears pricked up when I heard that part in particular. The whole night had a whole lot of "we aren't the only club to have a tight salary cap," "we aren't the only ones to have re-done a contract to shuffle the deckchairs" and "some other clubs will soon be in salary cap trouble" etc.

Seemed to be a lot of stuff being said that can't be proven and probably won't be.

Like Essendon saying "other clubs are doing it" with regards to their drug regime 🙄

So were there any revelations aside form the obvious retirement news. Anything new that wasn’t already well understood?

Not really. I think it was however the most blunt I've heard them talk about Adam Treloar though.

They essentially said that of all our high paid players, given the way/role he plays, he's by far and away the easiest one to replace. Grundy, Moore and JDG are not.

That was my take anyway.

Fair enough and that’s probably true, particularly when he’s injured. Burns the ball, does run the other way. Great player but if Geelong good win with Ablett and Hawthorn without Buddy we will survive.

My take-always ...

- Vic Park will be fenced
- Vic Park has had an upgrade to broadcast facilities
- Mark Anderson is our nice cuddly CEO, whilst Ed is busy playing 4D chess and thinking many moves ahead. In response to a point about the club refunding 2020 memberships, Anderson said “If you’re doing it tough and need a refund, call us”, to which Ed followed up with “We’re doing it tough here too, please don’t call us” or words to that effect.
- Admission that our TPP was maxed out, and that we’re now in a competitive position.
- The Monash facility is bubbling along in the background and there’ll be some fancy plans coming out soon.
- Hine is a funny guy and much loved in the club.
- The club did take the opportunity with it being online of controlling the narrative. Neither Beams nor Lumumba got so much as a mention ... hard to imagine that nobody asked.
- There will be five other members forums during 2021.

Lubumba doesn’t deserve a mention, neither does Beams. I expect that they will announce something around the former when a conclusion is reached, and the beams arrangement will be commercial in confidence...his struggles are well publicised. The lack of due diligence is infuriating.

Yeah, it might be a few years before either is invited back to the club to receive their lifetime membership.

I noticed another question that was upmost in most supporters minds that they failed to address.

Where are OA's pants & if we find them, what recipe do we have to make soup out of them?

We can always trust you to ask the hard questions OA, the ones that no one else will go near.

What’s the consensus view of the clubs backhanders to Treloar since leaving? I read comments in this thread about them having him outside our top 10 players. Is anyone buying that? He was an AA squad member in 2019 when they extended his contract by 6 ****ING YEARS now they come out and communicate to us they rate him that lowly. Somethings NQR there.

76woodenspooners can you provide anything further re this Monash facility? Is it aligned to Victoria Sport? If so that’s extremely exciting because of the need for an alternative home base.
