Does anyone know how many members the club has signed and how many their aiming for?

The info on the website has been updated for a while.

Also, does anybody know if the clubs $40 MCC membership thing has worked? How many MCC membes have signed up for Melbourne as well?

according to Tuesday's members email we are currently at 17,277 members which is 1,514 more then this time last year, not sure of what the aim is but i assume something around 30,000 would be a target

as for the MCC/MFC members $40 membership, not sure how well it is going, according to an article in the Sun a few dys ago, Steve Harris hopes that one day such a setup will allow us to reach 40,000 members, as currently only a small proportion join both (i am one of these few), i imagine it will encourage more to join but if they seriously want to help out the club then they sould be getting the Premium MFC/MCC membership anyway at $150, the club needs the extra membership money in order to continue the revival on the financial side of things

I am a Melbourne member, renewed last week and hopefully I get my MCC membership in this years intake. I certainly will be doing the $40 membership next year if I get the MCC - really whats an extra $40 to help out the club.

In regards to the financial side of things, are they aiming for a million again this year?

We need more supporters like you!

I sent an email to membership services on Saturday, and I got an email back from them today, their aim is 27,000 - they currently have 17, 811 - which is app. 1,500more then the same time last year.

He also said that if sales remain consistent, we are on track to reach that aim.

I'v also just sent him another quick email asking him about how the MCC/MFC membership is going - let you know when he replies.

So anyone out there who hasn't signed up yet, come on! Get behind the club - we need your help to reach that aim and to improve the finanials side of things.

Even if you won't be able to attend that many comes, be like stickyman11 and sign up to support the club.

976 MFC/MCC $40.00 memberships for season 2007.

I'v gotta say, I was quite dissapointed when I read that, out of 21,000 MCC members, not even 1000 have signed up for the joint membership.

Really, whats $40 if you can afford $500 for the MCC membership?

that is only the $40 variety, how mnay are like myself and signed up for the $150 variety?

I'm a member of both the MCC and MFC(150 variety).

The 'below 1000' they are refering to is the full membership ($150 MCC/MFC). That stat is from last year and the quote of 'below 1000' was stated when the MFC announced the $40 membership about three weeks ago.

Hopefuly you get your MCC this year Kylesut, but rather than get the $40 membership get the full variety

I pay my MFC ($150) & MCC Membership each year.

Allowes you double chances of a Grand Final ticket... as I am still MCC restricted I aren't guranteed through that.

you'd be no chance of getting in the MCC if melbourne are in it so you have no option but to be a footy club member, the years i wa a restricted member i was lucky as it was mainly interstate teams, which meant i could go

Yep, if Melbourne make a grand final I can't see any chance the pavilion won't fill up considering the large percentage of MCC members who are Melbourne supporters.

I know, I can't wait for to get the MCC membership! - I gave them a call and apparently I might get it this year, as they say "you are near the top of the list" and I am born in June, a month before the intake.

Also, its great to see so many people support the club with the $150 variety - especially if your tight on cash - If I have a spare $150 I will certainly sign up for that as well.
