Only problem is new members aren't really getting anything for their money because of the attendance ban. Buying a non matchday membership isn't going to bring much revenue for the clubs.
Buying a membership in the current circumstances is essentially just a donation.
It would be interesting to find out what % of members already think of their of their membership as a donation vs a product they buy. I certainly think of mine as a donation and even if the season is completely called off would still be happy to have paid.

Concern is if the remaining 10-15% don’t sign up from here (1) and on flip side the positive impact new members add to the bottom line by joining. If 20,000 Essendon fans for instance buy a 4 game membership at around $75. That’s $1.5M . That’s Big dollars.

The bottom line needs all the help it can get ... not just the Bombombers !!

Exactly right.

If you've already stocked up on food, hand sanitizer and bog roll, (not to mention the vitamin c tabs and panadol to make the mild dose pass more gently) then a footy membership at even the base entry will help your club out.

Without our clubs, bigfooty would just be a heap of strangers on the internet complaining about travelling.

How much of the membership is in the bank versus on the drip ... no footy, I can see the tap drying out !!

People will be losing their jobs soon....

Yeah, there will be people that could absolutely use it back and I hope they can get through this. But like the bushfire funds there will be many that rally behind something they love in a tough time to try and help their clubs as much as they can.

It's the scope. They reckon about 1.2m will lose their gifs just with stage 2 restrictions.

Good thing is the clubs are working together to have uniform policies around managing the situation

So they have counted the Saints $2 memberships right.

Who knows, but i'm pretty sure all clubs offered members the right to move some or all of their 2020 membership fee forward as a credit against 2021. In which case there's still going to be a huge financial hit to the club (which will obviously be repeated if clubs can't host games as normal in 2021 either).

I’m intrigued as to what state do all of those members reside in. Is there somewhere to get such a breakdown, especially on a per team basis?

Great result for the AFL and the clubs!
Good to see the bulk of Members still supporting their clubs during these difficult times.
