Have been a member for a long time but am pretty disapointed in the process.

Don't want to sound selfish but what's the point in paying your fees if you still can't get a seat on grand final day???

I'd much rather that then magazines and stickers and what not.

Had never heard of a "September Member" until it was too late, can someone explain this to me properly please...

All that anger and disappointment aside, will more than likely sign up again in '08.

Being a September member guarantees you tickets for the finals and Grand Final, should Geelong make it.

Anyway, I've been a member for two years now, and will be a member next year... Not sure how I'm going to pay for it, seeing I still owe my parents money for this year's, but I'm sure I'll be able to manage.

I'll be signing up again. I like my seat in the Eastern Stand (what's it's new name?) and I am happy with my Telstra Dome seats since I got it moved.

Besides, anyone who does not have a Geelong membership is down right unAustralian.

We are September members along with reserved seats in the Hickey Stand so that is expected in the mail In November sometime.
We usually booked for Telstra Dome via the net I guess we will have to get in early for that Essendon match.

I'm not sure what I'll do right now. Being over in the US, I don't get anything at all from a membership, and money has been perennially tight over the last couple of years. I might splurge but that is pretty unlikely the way things are going at the moment. If I had the potential to attend games then I would definitely fork out.

Will be signing up as soon as I get the forms.

Next year is my 13th year as a member and 6th year as a seat holder at Skilled Stadium.
I think I'm probably on the same figure - possibly 8th year of booked seating. At the end of 2006 I swore that I would not rejoin - that the bloody club could come begging and .... I re-joined the moment the membership forms arrived for 2007. It's called justification, redemption, fulfilment ...... Roll on 2008!

Will probably buy one, im not too worried. I usually just rock up to the game and buy a ticket. The GA terace is the best, meet all your mates there, no need to organise seats. :thumbsu:

Wont be happy when they eventually put seats there.

Member for a long time yet never heard of the September Member option? It's only been around for the past 4 years.

It is tough not being guaranteed a GF ticket, but that is out of the club's hands. If you aren't happy with the process then complain to the AFL who have turned the GF into a money-making exercise without giving any thought to the people who are the life of the game - the supporters.

Like few people here, coincidence dictates that 2008 is the first full year I will have a full time job. So 2008 should have record membership :thumbsu::)

I was almost not going to sign up this year, due to being unemployed at the start of the year/season due to having Glandular Fever for 9 months. It had nothing to do with last year, in fact I was wanting to get one to show my support that they kept Thompson on as coach, as I've never once thought he wasn't the right man for the team. Then in that Carlton game I sensed something special though, so I bought a Melbourne 11 (?) Membership, despite the fact I live in Tassie and knew I wouldn't get over for any games that year. I saw them in Launnie though.

A month or more out from the Grand Final I purchased a grand final ticket package through ATFS hoping that we'd make it. Which luckily paid off, then I ended up getting a ticket in the raffle from my membership also, so that was good. I gave that one to my dad, a longtime supporter, who has also said he'll be joining up again this year (normally just a house/interstate one).

Now being back in well-paid fulltime employment, I'll be getting the same membership again (and every year), and maybe sneak over for a couple of rounds, if not, the finals!

Those complaining about the process of getting a GF ticket, should not blame the club. Less than 17,000 members entered the ballot and about 9,500 got a ticket. So that's better than 50%, and it's the AFL that restricts it to that few tickets, not the club. A raffle is the only fair way it can be done for all, and I'm glad it's like that. If we made it again, and I didn't get one, I wouldn't get upset about it knowing I and GFC had done all that's possible. :thumbsu:

I was at the club this morning and was told that memberships will be sold from next Wednesday 14th November. Do we start lining up on Tuesday night?

I'm moving to the Kimberley in WA, so I will be getting the Housecat membership.
Hahaha, may I ask "Why?" (That you're moving there, not why to the membership. Good that you're still supporting the club anyway you can :thumbsu:)

Wow, you get a CGF car shades, A Footy Full on white board AND marker, and a GFC tote bag. Cool stuff.

And I pay $448, not 445.

Oh and If anyone cares it doesnt seem we have a choice of our little 'present' next year. We get a "Footy Full On" cap and that is it.

My Dad and I are going from Home 11 memberships for the past few years to silver AFL memberships next year.

We'll still keep our reserved seats at Skilled.

It just makes sense to be an AFL member for me - apart from the fact that we play 6 away games in Melbourne that my regular membership didn't entitle me to, I go to a few other games not involving GFC particularly as my boyfriend is a Collingwood supporter.

I called the club to explain the situation and asked what form we have to fill out to keep our seats and the girl in the membership department said that lots of people do this each year.

Really? That's kind of disappointing. I doubt I'd ever wear it. I liked that we had the option of things last year.

I hoped that our 'freebie' might have been something premiership related... like a small poster, a replica medal etc.

Yeah same. :thumbsu:

Where abouts are you at KP? I have silver seats that aren't too bad (price wise). $132 when compared to Brownlow/Platinum that is $206 is a bit of a difference.

Plus I have bronze at TD. But that is right next to the players race, 7 rows from the front!!! Imo, they are 'gold' seats to me. :)

Now THAT is a great idea. :thumbsu:

Lol, I reckon we deserve a medal too just quietly.

They also have on offer "exclusive members only merchandise". (Have they ever done that before?), which are things like tops, scarves, etc... one is worth $160 and you pay $130, one is $100 and you pay $60.

A free Footy Full On cap, how exciting. Cannot wait to pick that up!

I think they'd have to pay me to wear that Cap. Am I the only one who cringes whenever they hear 'Footy Full On'. Clearly our worst slogan since 'Get it on!'.

Does anyone know if the Membership brochure can be viewed online? My internet at work is stuffed so I can't view the club website properly to see if it's on there.

Lol, I know it sucks don't it.

Anyway this link has all the stuff about membership. Not sure if you can actually download the brochure. http://www.gfc.com.au/Default.aspx?tabid=4027
