I just wanted to post this. I have been on and off the phone for a better part of the afternoon (yeah i work so hard ) and i just wanted to say that Mary Anne, Betty & Orla have been magficiant with helping myself and the guys i'm sitting with, out. We had a hiccup around Christmas and they were fantastic in finding out what happened and fixing it, and this afternoon, have helped me out incredibly well. Not only that, they have remembered us all from the day we signed on the dotted line for our membership, even acknowledging us on the weekend (i wasn't there, but was seen!!) The girls have been fantastic.

That's great to hear! Well done, Membership staff. There is nothing like personal service. A lot of people don't realise how important it is.

I wonder when my membership ticket and seat will arrive. Glad I didn't need it last Sunday:confused:

They are nice helpful people there, but - they've had my money since October, and still no ticket in sight. What's going on????

It has never been very good has it ? If they want people to pay early then they should have your membership to you by the end of Jan

Tickets & Seats have been distributed this week - I got mine today :D

Wouldn't have mattered about last week anyway, club memberships don't admit to Wizard Cup games.

If you have a seat, its nigh on impossible to get seats allocated and out by the end of January

I don't think it matters much anyway? You can't use them until March, so what's the rush?

A few seasons ago they didn't get my tickets to me until the Thursday before the Saturday game. I was working interstate that week and had to drive from the airport to my place and then back on the Saturday just so I could get to the game.
Why ask for people to join early if they cant get the tickets to you in a timely manner ?

Signing early members has nothing to do with getting them to you early, it's money in the bank, it's membership figures on the board, and it encourages everyone to stagnate (sp?) their buying, so you don't have a situation where 20,000 members are trying to buy memberships at the same time.

It also reduces the printing and production of non used membership cards.

By this stage they would have produced the 11,000 odd card they specifically need plus additional ones that they would project selling over the next 4 months.

There are reasons behind early purchasing, you'd find that not only ours, but other teams as well, this stands for. I know for a fact that Essendon members haven't all recieved their memberships. We're not the only ones.

A few seasons ago (i presume you're talking about 2000, maybe 2001) it wasn't our fault. Colonial Stadium & The AFL had not confirmed allocation of seats until very late in proceedings. This again was not only us, but the other co tenants as well.

Old school have you ever worked in the membership?

Its pretty hard to work in there. We never got the stuff that goes in your membership package till about 4weks ago so your wouldnt have got it before the end of jan.

You dont need the membership for at least another 4weeks so what are you complaining about.

When I joined in early Nov I was told that I would get my membership in early Jan and was considering purchasing some as Xmas gifts.
This is not a knock on the people that work there but it is does highlight that we are always running late. Yes some other clubs have not sent their memberships yet but equally some clubs have.

It seems that the club always struggles to do the little things well
which might actually limit the membership numbers
