Membership drive on The Footy Show

I wasn't happy at all with the way the footy show did the membership drive last night. They should have interviewed more players. I would have thought they would have concentrated on more of the clubs struggling with members such the Bulldogs, Melbourne, Geelong etc.

And what about that bet between the Bombers and the Pies - the first to 40000. Meanwhile we (the dogs) could struggle to get 20000. OK maybe they were planning on covering more clubs but ran out of time with 'Barb' trying to take over the show and all

The sooner Eddie McConflict of Interest resigns from Collingwood the sooner Channel 9 coverage of the game will have some credibility.

Must be a norf supporter, with a persecution complex.

I think they should have just devoted the footy show to Collingwood Essendon Carlton and Richmond. There are not enough of other supporters to worry about nay drop in ratings. It will probably boost ratings some more.

Yeah it was great to see the big 3 clubs in Collingwood, Essendon and Carlton get all the coverage. What about trying to help some of the smaller clubs out. They are the clubs that need the members more the big 3, but then again watching Barb make a fool of herself must seem more important than trying to help these poorer clubs. Well done channel 9 having Barb was a real ratings winner. What next will you make her a special comments person for you commentary team next year.

I forgot about the Footy Show last night until about 10.30. I thought I would have missed all the discussion of the Ansell Cup Grand Final, but no, there was still nearly another half an hour of rubbish before they got to the main event at around 11.00pm. I can only imagine what 'delights' I missed in the first hour...

Actually re the Footy Show I don't really care as I don't watch it (or haven't in years) so they can devote it to the McGuires, the Elliots and the Costellos.

I am serious. A show that revolved around 4 teams only, Carlton Collingwood Essendon and Richmond would outrate the footy show b/c we could cut out all the boring bits about the Roos and Saints and interstate teams. When they are on it is like when we watched World of Sport and the races came on. You'd go and have a leak or make something for lunch and then come back to the TV.

Couldn't agree more with you JUB JUB, I turned it off within 10 minutes, when Barb starting crapping on - then she started on the Roos. An hour later, I tuned in again, hoping that the standard would pick up and Lou was on - crapping on. He was more annoying than Barb. Fingers crossed that neither of them are on next week !!!!

i was sick to death watching some of that show. i must admit its very funny but i think they are forgeting about football sometimes and concentrate more on abuse (must have been on a visit around bigfooty.com lately).
why didn't they interview any non-victorian teams but some spunk who had his 21st birthday who i never knew about but surely kept the girls stuck to the TV screen.
wasn't the point of it all to raise memberships to clubs in need (NOT PIES,DONS and BLUES!). I was in tears hearing Kouta and Bradley and oh the wisdom on Buckly!

They are great players but they really need to get some young and new faces on the show as they are the future of footy!

I agree with Joel, I like the Footy Show, regardless of the fact it's very Collingwood, Essendon orientated and the Crows rarely get a mention. I reckon it's mostly hilarious and is better than anything else on t.v. at that time. If you don't like it, don't tune in.
