I don't think we get any say in which category of seat we'd like. The only choice we get to make is whether we're happy to accept a standing room / restricted view seat
I'd accept a ticket to sit on the bloody floor or next to Gillon McFloglin himself if we made it :D

Wow, this talk of selling Gold bar codes is surprising to me. Back in 97/98 I was a Gold member, and didn't choose to go to the game, but happily shared my Gold membership with someone who wanted to go. There wasn't any talk of money exchanging hands. Have we become so mercenary in the last 20 years? SMH

A gold membership didn't cost 400 bucks back in the late 90s

Is there a chance more tickets will be released to club members or set in stone?
There's the usual unreturned allocations that may crop up. This number will vary depending on who plays. If Richmond make the GF, there's no chance in hell of anything coming back. If it's someone like a GWS, or possibly West Coast, make it, there's a good chance some tickets will come back, which will flow back to the Priority 2 ballot.

My brother and I are going over to sit outside the gates and hear the roar if we dont get inside :D
I didn't get a ticket to the GF in 1997 cause idiot ex decided that our AFL finals series tickets we got - he decided to take his uncle who had used them each finals weekend leading up to the GF (they were only for MCG games). So I still decided to go over and get a ticket from a scalper or something. Instead a friend who was umpiring the reserves game knew what had happened and called me on Thursday to say his wife wasn't going on his partner ticket and did I want it? So that's how I got in the AFL members for free in 1997!

We had someone offer their Gold membership barcode to someone up here who has one, but looking for another for his Dad (if we get in)... because it was going to clash with her Uni commitments. I was so in awe of her generosity. There are still good people out there.

Can you get into the after match function without a ticket to the actual match?
YOu talking about the one at the G or over at the tennis centre later? Either way, you don't need a ticket. The G is opened up for general public after. The only thing that limits you at the tennis centre is capacity.

As by my username, went to the 97 and 98 grand finals and biggest regret was not going to the Tennis Centre after the match in 98, instead going to a little pub in North Melbourne.

Without a grandfinal ticket, would still consider sitting outside the G, watch it on the laptop or phone, and then join in the celebrations at the Tennis Centre - of course if we made it to the Grand Final. No cart before horse yet!
