As by my username, went to the 97 and 98 grand finals and biggest regret was not going to the Tennis Centre after the match in 98, instead going to a little pub in North Melbourne.

Without a grandfinal ticket, would still consider sitting outside the G, watch it on the laptop or phone, and then join in the celebrations at the Tennis Centre - of course if we made it to the Grand Final. No cart before horse yet!
I was there too... also went to the post match. It was awesome! :D

YOu talking about the one at the G or over at the tennis centre later? Either way, you don't need a ticket. The G is opened up for general public after. The only thing that limits you at the tennis centre is capacity.
i remember going to the tennis centre after 97, i was standing next to Tony Mcguiness, i have never seen a angry or bitter man after a grand final victory

Favourite part of 97, other than the game and the result, was singing a 'modified' version of the Saints theme song while waiting for the Adelaide players to appear at the Tennis Centre.
oh yea, that was being sung on the walk to the tennis centre aswell

Hey all, apologies if this isn't the correct place to be posting, but I couldn't seem to find the appropriate place. I'm really wanting to go to our next home final but everyone that I know is using their membership codes to get tickets for themselves or for others. Long shot but I don't suppose that anyone for some reason on here can't attend and would be kind enough to have 2 members tickets codes available? Thanks regardless :)

Wouldn't the thing at the ground be instead of the tennis centre thing? Back then they didn't have a show post match and present the players at the ground so they did the tennis centre.

Cant see why they would do both

Others for the last match said you could sign up to the newsletter and get the membership barcodes but not sure if it worked.

Wow, this talk of selling Gold bar codes is surprising to me. Back in 97/98 I was a Gold member, and didn't choose to go to the game, but happily shared my Gold membership with someone who wanted to go. There wasn't any talk of money exchanging hands. Have we become so mercenary in the last 20 years? SMH
You have to remember that members may have paid the $140 for many years but this year for some reason they can't go. I would feel a little upset and therefore want to recoup some costs.
Whereas in 97 98 it was a lot less and members had probably only been paying gold membership for a few years.

That 20 years ago people didn't think about charging for the exchange, but now you and others are fine with it. Society has changed.
20 years ago the Advertiser was full of ads for people selling gold tickets. Some unscrupulous people were selling silver memberships in GF week after they were USELESS.

Thanks for the reply! Have signed up to the newsletter so will wait and see. If not I'll try and struggle to get 2 tickets in the general public sale

Yeah, not sure. Obviously we haven't been there since they changed the format.

I stand corrected. I honestly didn't remember that. At the time, I was happy to help out a fellow Crows' fan, and didn't want anything in return. I thought that was the way most people would've felt.

As I have said ( to the point of tedium) I am happy to reimburse the Gold Ticket cost for 2 ticket holders who cant go. I think thats fair

Wait until the 2nd release of tickets and zap in at 9 am if you miss out on the 1st public issue. I could have saved myself the price of a vision obstructed seat as I bought in the 2nd issue after buying the useless VR seat in the 1st. Grrrrr.

Hey all. Really a dumb place to post but am out of options. My dad is flying over for the GF now, and I'm desperate on getting a ticket. I've only got 1 gold pass, does anyone have one they are not going to use? I'll pay whatever is required so that I can register on Wednesday morning. Private message me if you can help out.
Thanking all in advance

Someone else here who would be keen to find a spare Gold member's ticket, so I can potentially join my Dad at the GF.
Would be happy to make suitable arrangements with anyone who wouldn't be going (assuming we qualify).
Spare tickets are probably going to be rare, but thought I'd ask.

After some gold passes too, however I have a bloke at work with 2x that may not be able to go (especially if he gets the $$$ cat 2 tickets), so i'm gently leaning on him to buy them.

West coast have packages for sale at the moment, $1000 to $2000 for dinner and a ticket.

Couldn't justify it myself for that price.

Lovey... you can ALWAYS justify it knowing how rare these opportunities are.
