Fwiw I just clarified this with club. She has assured me that as a gold member we are guaranteed tickets even if we have selected no standing room. Said this is only of relevance to other membership categories. Hopefully she is right!
That's incorrect, only if you select Option 1 (include standing room only) will you be 100% sure.

Really. That's what the lady in membership services told me. She said don't worry you'll bet a ticket as a gold member
I'm priority 1 and the email from the club states that if you dont select standing room as an option and when its time to process your request and all seated seats are allocated then you waive your right to a ticket.

However this will depend how many of the clubs 17000 seats are seated vs non-seated against how many members are classed as priority 1, so if theres more priority 1 members than seated tickets than theres a chance that if you dont select the standing option may miss out on a ticket altogether.

That is not correct as it's not what is written on the letter sent.

The way I see it you get best available ticket at time your number gets drawn.
So if your ticket doesn't get drawn until the end and there is only standing room left that's all you get. So if you don't select standing and there are only standing room tickets left you miss out.

You are better off selecting this and if you can't make it sell the tickets or try to do a swap with someone if possible.

Eagles have sold out of Cat 6 and 5, only 3 and 4 left, $1650 for Cat 4, God I'm so torn haha
I just missed out on Cat 5!

I've done it. Committed to Cat 4. Done, booked. I was past the point of no return at $1350 for Cat 5, what's another $300??

Apparently the WCE tickets are 'flying off the shelves' too. So I'd say if you're going to do it, do it now.

Have to pick up tickets from the Melbourne office which makes it somewhat awkward to re-sell if we lose....

Really? Hmmmm, did you ask if you could change names or get someone else to pick up?

I'm talking about West Coast package ones, the email specifically states anyone can collect. For Gold member ones I assume you mean?
Yeah I was just talking to the rep and she advised me anyone can collect, I've bitten the bullet and bought the Cat 4 package! Just need the boys to hold up there end of the bargain now. I live in Perth so best case I can pick the ticket up here before I leave, Worst Case flog it to a Tigger supporter and they can pick up in Melbourne

WCE tickets are fully transferable but NOT re sellable.

All they need is an email advising change of name for their dinner.

So if you know someone you can sell to via word of mouth then probs get away with it. But they will absolutely be monitoring all the usual re sale sites and if they see one it will be cancelled.

That's directly from WCE

Registered, and included standing room (but hope I don't get it). Was pretty easy and quick. 17,000 tickets (approx) for each competing club according to the AFL website http://www.afl.com.au/news/2017-04-12/more-grand-final-tickets-for-competing-club-members
Does that mean that if we play GWS or Richmond, we still only have 17,000 tickets? I thought it was proportional as some have said on here, however that article does not say it (says the opposite in fact). Obviously good if we play Richmond, as they have more members, but if we play GWS, that would almost be every single one of their members, but 40,000 of ours miss out. Meh, I'll be there if we make it, but doesn't seem right
Now just gotta hope we win next week
