Well i got a message from the membership team at Freo saying i needed to update my credit card.

So i followed the link from email. and arrived at Ticketmaster. Hadnt been on that website for such a long time i didnt recall my password.
No issues i thought i click FORGOT PASSWORD

Cool i get email from ticketek to RESET password.

Baack to Ticketek i go to login. hmm it not accepting me logging in as they need a PHONE Number.

Ok click add phone, hmm my country is not on the drop down list for international codes. ...
Ok they seem to indicate i can enter it all in manually after the + symbol

Did that clicked send code... Waited..... waited .... waited.

Hmmmm. back the next day. Repeat all steps as above.
Waited . waited . waited.


another EMail from Freo sayign my Memebership payment is still unsuccesful.
So i write back to them explainign the issue.

Their answer, "use a different EMAIL"

WEll that wont fix the PHONE issue. cant access without a phone account apparentyl



So i sadly responded to the MEMBERSHIP group "As i have no way of verifying my account , i wont be able to pay for my membershio"

No reply. Seems they dont care.

Been a long journey as a member , was an original Quay Club member and now this.

The wonders of modern Technologies have removed my ability to be a member.

So user error = must be someone else's problem. Unfortunately, a very common reaction.

Unless you forgot, there is an elimation final on next weekend and they have taken an enormous volume of calls and emails over the last week.

Highly likely that if you asked a friend for help, you would find the issue is at your end.

The Fremantle membership department have absolutely nothing to do with your ticketmaster technical issues.

While I understand the frustration, it takes a lot of effort and resources to manage that type of tech, so it makes sense it has been decided to essentially outsource it across the AFL comp.

Have you tried contacting Ticketmaster?
They're the ones that manage the email/phone validation so may be able to advise.
Now that the finals ticket sales have finished you're likely to get a better response from both them and Freo.

Sent ticketek an email got no response
 
It may have just been a slip of the keyboard, but Ticketek and Ticketmaster are 2 different companies.

Confusingly both serve different venues across the AFL comp.

Ticketmaster are the ones you need.

I am at fault obviously and I stuffed up moving overseas for 6 years .

I contacted both the Agency dealing with the Credit card for Membership Feed and the Membership department of the club.

Not sure there is any thing else for me to do.

Raz I am sure they will eventually sort it out.

To be fair to you, both Ticketmaster and Ticketek seem to be stuck in the early 2000s in terms of how user friendly they are, both utter rubbish, unfortunately with little competition to push them to make it better.

a Simple old fashioned piece of ppaer that i write my card number on and sign ws so much better

You could probably solve your problems by having an Australian phone number. Probably a handy thing to have it you're living in Australia now.

Thanks to esim technology, if you have a compatible phone you won't even need a new device, you can have two numbers on one phone.

I am not in AUSTALIA

I haven't been for 6 years.


But another email sent to the membership group at Dockers seems to have finally got some action

They will not accept change of credit card via EMAIL

lets see how this goes.

Feeling bit better now with some hope

Telstra currently has a $1 prepaid e-sim plan. I’m sure if you’ve an Australian passport the sign up process would be fairly painless. Setting up an eSIM on newer phones is trivial.

Or… ask a friend you trust if you can use their number?

Those are just two quick ideas off the top of my head. I’m sure there are more solutions.

Well finally the membership department realised they can still do MANUAL changes without myself needing to access the TICKET website

So all fixed now, new card is registered. they took the missing payment and i can continue being a Member . woohoo

And can keep my watchafl.com free membership
