IMO, we need somewhere in the vicinity of 28-30K for the year. The start of the year is going to be critical for us. Play well, and hopefully we get some of the members from last year to sign up, play well, and we won't - it's that simple.!!

For all the ones who yet renew do it now or pay the Price when you see Carlton win first few games i hope they do to make you wish you had renewed your Memberships earlier
The Carlton players were busy on the phones last night helping the 2006 Club Membership drive. In a great show of unity the playing group gathered at the Dome to call 2005 Carlton Members who are yet to renew for the new season.
“The players are aware our Membership numbers are down compared to this time last year and we are keen to show our supporters that everyone at the Club is working together to ensure we move forward in a positive manner on and off the field,” said Captain Anthony Koutoufides between phone calls to lapsed members.

I was actually going to ask about this sort of thing. I might be wrong, but I don't recall getting a reminder notice for my membership - does the club issue them? I had assumed for months that I had renewed when I hadn't.
Either way, in a situation when the membership numbers are down and the club desperately needs every member it can get, I think it is an excellent idea for the players to help follow up non-renewed members.
Apart from the excellent PR involved, there is a telephone "workforce" of over 30 people there who can help out by doing follow up work the office staff probably don't have time to do.

I've always wondered how many of the 53,000 fans who went to the Wiz Cup GF last year were Carlton fans and how many of them are/were members ?
I wish fans could join up year in year out, I mean $155 a year for a basic silver membership isn't too pricey to keep the club afloat, especially in these dark times.
Agree, but i've got a reserved seat at both the TD and MCG. If I didn't renew by mid December, then the club couldn't guarantee i'd get my seats from last year.
