I'd like ppl to have a stab at how many extra members you think a wiz cup win will bring to the club. would it just be a few hundred or thousands?

If we win, I'd reckon it would be worth 3000 extra members, fickle as Geelong supporters are, would also expect a rise in merchandise by $200,000 and improved corporate marketing (increased tv exposure corporate boxes etc). All up a win could be worth as much as a $1,000,000 including the prize-money.

The Addy reported today that we are at 16,000 members. that 2% more ppl then last year . it is also exceped that by the end of the week we will be at 17,000

Heard Frank Costa has cut short his New Zealand holiday to join in the pre-season Grand Final week celebrations. Also as part of this, was to rally behind the team and its supporters to join up as members!

I am a newbie here so be gentle.

If the AFL would have allowed club members to get into Grand Final this week for free I think it would have boosted the number of signings.

Every player and coach at every club should have a membership at their respective clubs.I find it a bit rich for clubs to come out and beg supporters to become members,yet they aren't members themselves.

Geelong players and coaches have bought memberships for the last few years.It probably started when Costa & co joined the club.

Good on the guys for doing it.

I have heard other clubs do it, don’t know if every other club does however. It seems a very worthwhile idea, and I don’t know why every team wouldn’t, even if they do have 30,000+ members!
