Before we won in 2005 we had been a laughing stock since the 1930s. Richmond were the best team last year

Nope. Adelaide were the best team last year but the grand final was played on their opponents home deck. Richmond lost to the Crows by 76 points when they had to go to Adelaide earlier in the year.

Surely someone stat savvy like yourself would mention playing a GF at your home ground is a amazing advantage.
Well there's zero evidence of grand finals being played at outside of Victoria :)

Have you done the stats on the grand finals played during WW2 and at Waverly Park in 1991?

I have what would you like to know? Not sure ww2 is relevant though given every team was from Victoria.

You could argue we were the best team last year, bookended with capitulations. At the end of last year we were 3 games ahead of 2nd on the ladder minus the 0-6 start. I know you can't just take away the 0-6 start, but those 16 weeks after we were the best team imo.

Yeah we were but if we were the best team we would have put a halt to the 0-6. Maybe after 3 or 4 losses we would have recollected but it took six wins and it ended up costing us. As opposed to Adelaide who paced their season absolutely perfectly and looked the best side all the way up to the GF where they had to play away. It is without a doubt the biggest blight on our sport.

If you take out all the games they lost, you could argue the Bulldogs were the best team last year. After all they beat the premiers, the Swans, and some other good teams. If it wasn't for the games they didn't win, they were the best team imo.

With the talent they had & the injuries & missing players, taking away all their losses, I thought the Suns were the best team.... wait, no... no, I don't.

Not sure about this "take out all the losses" theory....
