Hey there footy fans. Just interested to know about the prices of other club membership deals? Just paid around $500 for social club membership and a seat at Colonnial. How does that compare with your club? Don't mind paying but I think the prices are starting to get a bit steep. What do others think?

Why is Brisbanes memberships so dear. We had complaints on here last year oer the costings.
How much is it at other clubs. We at Essendon are far cheaper than that.

Mongrel Punt,

You don't say which club you support ... but your name suggests the Doggies.

But anyway, if that's the case it would seem that Collingwood has started a bit of a trend with its outrageous prices last season, and now all the other clubs are going to follow suit. It'll become a bit of a competition to see which club can extort the most money out of its gullible supporters. My money would be on Collingwood there. We may not be much chop on the field, but by Golly we know how to rip off our supporters.

Last year I paid $495 for the "Legends" membership package, which included Social Club membership, admission and undercover reserved seat at 16 matches, and ... please don't laugh ... a guaranteed option to buy a Grand Final ticket IF Collingwood had made the Grand Final. I don't know how much they're going to slug for that same package in 2001, but I'm not expecting there'll be much change out of $600. The GST will account for some of that, of course.

Football memberships have become ridiculously expensive. Football fans are probably one of the most easily exploitable sectors of the consumerist market.

What a mug's game football has become.

I'll nominate Hawthorn's as the best value membership, especially if you like lots of Marks and prefer saturday afternoon at the 'G'

Oh and on advantage over the Esscarlingwoods is that there's always plenty of room.

I've just renewed with the Swans for 2001 :

$308

for a Reserved Seat in the Dally Messenger Stand (not covered) for 11 Home games and 1 away game (v WBulldogs)

This is the cheapest available for a Reserved Seat. A basic membership is around $200 (I think) but thats Gebneral Admission to the Concourse only.

Considering that includes GST, I don't think its too bad actually.

cheers

We have to make it expensive to discourage People (using the term loosley )like **** and Jaffa etc.

just on the subject- do you guys get sent bloody raffle tickets to sell about 50 billion times a year as well.

that really shits me. I buy the first two lots myself, but after that it gets ridiculous !!!!
