I'll renew my membership soon as well. Will go for the 18 games ticket, but with no reserved seat. As long as I can get a beer and watch some footy, i'm happy.

Thats EXACTLY what I reckon. I often use my Social Gold card to gain acccess and then sit in general admission or anywhere with family or friends.

also, i finish year 12 this year and start uni next year. what do i do to qualifiy as concession?

Well considering we only get 11 home games each season, yes

As for concession, just send a copy of your student id from the uni with your membership forms. If you can't wait that long, you could probably get by as long as you provide proof of your enrollment.

I used to work there many moons ago, unless it's changed the Carlton people don't really check when processing, as long as you take your ID to games as some very rare gate people ask

As far as I know that should be cool. Concession proof is for the venue's mainly anyway.
I usually join up at the club and I never usually write my concession/uni card number on the form but I've had to show it once at the gate. But in all honesty I believe that's because I'm a mature age and they probably didn't believe I should be a uni student.

Just tell them your situation if you're not sure, you shouldn't have a problem, epsecially if you look like a year 12 they'll believe you

So are you still doing the course next year? Because you'll get another card so it shouldn't be a prob, I doubt they'll check the date, like I said it's mostly for the grounds anyway.

I think you can get the concession 18 games Captains Club reserved (I think it's called), the old Social Gold.

For all the uni people it doesn't even matter.

My mate renewed his online this year and he just quoted his uni card number ( which was out of date I believe) and it was fine.

When I went in to renew mine it was all good, even if the card expires this year they wont care.

I had a silver membership last year but my membership was for the 11 home games..... what that meant was for our home games, you just take your membership card to the gate, scan it & in you go (through the gates where members enter of course)
for the remainding games in melb that were not home games, I had to purchase a ticket to get in......
this year I will be upgrading to all 18 games silver membership

At the Dome you can enter through pretty much any gate.

At the G, certain gates you can't enter through, like the MCC and AFL members reserve area.

The most important thing is we get to choose from a free hat or scarf this year.

I'll choose the scarf and put my prized Carlton scarf with the original VFL logo in moth balls.

The VFL logo is a classic.

This might sound stupid but im happy the prices have gone up because the club we'll probably get 40000 members and that is extra money.

It's my first year in the workforce following a lot of poor as c**p years as a Uni student and I'm going to travel over for atleast 5 games this year given the cheap airfares.

Also wanted to mention I bought a carlton guernsey from the online store a few weeks ago and I got it within 5 days of my order...
