Memo to the AFL - You need to tell umpires NOT to put themselves in harm's way!

I believe the image below highlights two problems currently besieging the AFL - Congestion and lack of appreciation by umpires that by getting in too close to the action they are exposing themselves to risk of injury. Ryan Griffen was probably completely unaware the umpire was right behind him. Imagine if he had unwittingly swung his arm around and struck the umpire in the head! How many weeks would he cop?
