Juddys first pair of boots he ever wore in a Carlton match.

Signed, C.O.A. and a photograph of him signing the boots.

How much are they worth?

Would still be worth a bit as it was a landmark occasion for us. The loss diminishes it slightly, but overall the symbolism is worth a bit. The value goes down as time passes, rather than up though. The reason being, the feelings of a hero marching in to save us from despair will fade as our stocks continue to rise.

If we won a great game or Judd did something spectacular that gets replayed over and over, then the value would remain or could go up.

Fair enough...but IMO I would rather have a new fresh pair of boots signed by the man rather than a pair of boots that he wore and lost to Richmond too - even if it was at the G. Hence why I would only pay $80. You might place a different value on them???

Brad Roo - Wait till there is a sale of Judd's signed Puma boots when he wins Carlton's 17th flag and the Norm Smith - Might be worth a bit of coin;)

*efa :p

I would rather the first guernsey he put on for his first publicity photo when he arrived at Carlton to be honest. The symbolism in this case doesn't have to be match related.

The OP stated Juddy's first pair of boots he ever wore in a Carlton match. I just said that I would rather the new pair than the pair he wore against Richmond.

I may be wrong.

I'm not quoting you so therefore not arguing with you. Just offering my own opinion on the OP's question.

Having said that, I can't exactly recall but wasn't Judd's first game (aside from intraclub) a practice match against the Dees or the Dogs? Wasn't that the one where Walker got injured again?

As I said, it is the significance of the occasion ... i.e Judd first showing his stuff for us onfield OR Judd first walking into Visy Park as a contracted Carlton player.

Was against the Dogs, Juddy had 3 disposals in the first 30 seconds or something along those lines.

Not sure if you would count a NAB Challenge match as Judds first official game for the Blues - I would lean more towards the Richmond game round 1.

$80 or $10,000.

My mate was sorta looking at a figure in between.

Say, $1,500-$2,000 each boot mounted and framed.

.. Bugger

Perhaps in their last ever reserves game?

Shall we start the bidding at say .. $10,000 ? :)

You get 10 grand, I'll get the boots off my mate for 4 grand and we'll split the other 6 grand.;);):thumbsu:
