Pretty sure that the 'glamor boy' from the AFC kicked 10 on debut in 1993 against Richmond.

Just like the Saints after they won their first flag.....and got steadily worse![]()
If it was Lachlen Hansen who kicked 3 goals on debut would there be all this fuss? I don't think so.
I wonder how many goals Coleman would've kicked on debut had he entered the VFL at the age of 18?
Or to put it another way, I wonder how many Hawkins would've kicked had the Cats held him back in the VFL for the next 3 years, then unleashed him against the bottom side in Round 1, 2010.
Good effort by the Tomahawk, considering all the hype and pressure he was under.
If the Cats can't win a flag in the next few seasons with Hawkins and the Abletts up forward, they may as well fold.
Exciting times ahead in Sleepy Hollow. I have an acute case of father/son envy.
I went to Princes Park a few years ago to watch the Eagles not score a goal in the first half, and a young fella by the name of Walker went all right as well for the Blues that day.
Good point. That's the difference unlike 20 years ago. You don't get to groom guys for 2-3 years in the seconds so when they do debut they are ready - physically as well as mentally. Michael Tuck and Dipper are two of the supreme examples of this. Even Ablett senior - people forget he was 22 before he pulled on a boot for Geelong.
