Welcome back to the Memorial Delonte West-Gloria James South Beach Cup!

As usual this is the deal...

•Dynasty League
•12 team
•Standard 9 Cats
•PG, SG, G, SF, PF, F, C, C, UTL, UTL + 4 Reserves
•No extra slot for Euro players (i.e. if you drafted LLull then he takes up a spot on your roster regardless if he plays NBA or not).
•One Long Term Injured Reserve spot after a player misses 15 consecutive games. You do this by posting a message in the yahoo league. For example.

Picking up Antoine Walker

You then drop the player to waivers but no one else can pick them up. If the player returns from injury to activate them you must drop a player and you can then pick up your injured player again. Once again you must notify the league i.e.

•Seperate rookie draft every year (excluding the first year where anyone can be drafted). Single round rookie draft per year. The draft order of the bottom six is set at the end of the regular season.
•The draft order for the top 6 at the end of the playoffs. If you haven't been active though you get last pick in the first round.
•Guys not on team rosters can also be selected in the rookie draft also.
•You are allowed to trade draft picks one year ahead (i.e. if we are in the 2010-2011 season you can trade a future 2011-2012 pick but no future picks past that year until the next season)

Tanking and Absentia
If for whatever reason a manager does not set his team for an extended pariod of time as assessed by the commissioner a player may have their first round pick for the following year downgraded to the last pick in the frst round as punishment. If inactivity is ongoing, a manager may lose his team. This may be due to lack of activity or due to "tanking". Tanking is purposely not setting your team (or your best players) to lose each week.

NEW RULE FOR 2013/2014

* In relation to the long term injury reserve slot I am introducing a clause that prior to the start of any regular season that a team may place a player in the long term injury reserve slot, however if a player is sent to LTIR prior to the start of the regular season he MUST miss the first 15 games even if he becomes available prior.


2013/2014 dates

Rookie draft will commence on Sunday the 20th of October. First game of the season is Tuesday the 29th.

My intention is to have everyone confirm their participation asap and to hold a trading period where players and draft picks maybe traded. This period will span either 7 - 10 days prior to the rookie draft.

I will be posting the end of season rosters from the previous season in the next post. Next to the team name will be their current draft pick for the upcoming rookie draft.
I know that picks have been traded previously but unfortunately I don't have a list of them and i'm not going to read the entire thread from last season so managers will need to let me know asap.
From this point on I will now keep traded picks listed in this first post (below).

Good to see most managers are keen to continue this fine league that Raff built!

For everybody's information I have introduced a new rule, as follows;

Once the regular season has commenced the usual rule applies to the LTIR. A player must miss 15 consecutive games prior to being eligible for the LTIR.

I'd heard recently on Espn Sportcenter that there was an American billionaire interested in purchasing the so far unsuccessful European franchise. No truth Bugs?

I'm not fussed as your suggestion makes sense so we'll go with that.

Thanks for your interest Gus. At this stage a fantasy nut from outside of Big Footy is next in line for a birth if one comes up. He's been pretty keen to get involved in this league for a few seasons now.

But if he doesn't accept your in and you'll now have first refusal of any other spot that may come up.

Couldn't agree more D2C. This is by far my favourite league also as the dynasty format with the rookie draft I feel gives you the most ownership of your team over any other format.

The draft gives the teams who finished lower the first crack at the best rookies although this year there doesn't seem to be much on offer.

Last year though Anthony Davis was a great number 1 pick and next year a lad from Canada is going to make the manager of the bottom team very happy come draft time. Although there looks to be quality for atleast a handful of picks next season!

And you hope the league continues, well with the managers we have I think this league will be around for a long long time.

Lads unfortunately our previous and great Commish Raff has decided to step down as Manager of the Black Mamba's as he no longer has the time to do his thing.

He's a great loss to the league as he was the founder of this league and a couple of others i'm a part of. Obviously we'll have him back in a heartbeat so if he ever signals his return he'll go to the top of the queue to take over a vacancy if ever required.

I have also made the decision that Greentree will no longer remain in control of the team Trugger Busts. He last logged into Big Footy in November 2012 and was a no show for call up in the KMC league.

Therefore Gus Poyet you will definitely be taking control of a side this season. I am awaiting a decision of a newbie whether he'll enter the league as well or whether the remaining spot will be taken by deeman87. That will be decided within the next 48 hours.

Once that is decided we'll discuss who will be taking over the management of which side and we can kick off a the trade period prior to the draft.
