To be honest he was BETTER tonight than almost any game he played pre injuries which is unimaginable. He average 11 possessions and 1.5 goals a game prior to tonight so having 20 and 4.2 is bananas

What a comeback. It's hard to believe this guy has missed 4 years of footy. Has missed out on 4 years of development and yet comes back like nothing has ever happened. Credit to him, he was our best tonight by a long way. We all knew he had talent but to show what he did tonight, cripes, the kid could be anything.

What an unbelievable return from a quality player and, by all reports, quality person. Huge character, typified by the courage to take that leap for the mark.. didn't even think twice about it. Well done, I hope it is all smooth sailing for him injury-wise from here.

It's still so hard to imagine the future with him because of the past. But if you look past the what if injury scenario. He could very much still be an absolute superstar. There is very few in the league with the ability to do what he can.

He's just so sharp. He kicks goals (doesn't have that mental pressure that Walker and co have), he is goal smart ( Stevie J and Motlop-like), he's dangerous and demands the ball. He's an injection of that dangerous small forward we've needed for a long time.

ive said this before but in my 38 years of watching the cats the only other player that has looked so balanced has been gary ablett senior. (special mention gary ablett jnr). on the ground, in the air, his goal sense, kicks on both sides of his body, menzel just has it all. He could still be a great of our club. I actually think if he gets a good run of it he could be our next captain too. the majority of our group looked flat tonight but menzel had that body language that attempted to get them going. only once did he misread the pace of the game when tackled on the wing which is just amazing to think is possible after nearly 4 years out of the game. good on him for celebrating after the game despite the loss and doesn't he speak well. a memorable night from what should have been a forgettable game.

Still in awe. Across the codes and the nations, that sort of comeback after four knee reconstructions (one a LARS ligament graft) would have to be pretty special.

He could play any position but his sense around the sticks when the ball is on the ground and his dead-eye dick set shots, really warrants his selection in the 50 metre arc. Add his marking ability up forward and i sense that he would be slightly wasted in other positions.
