It is great he got those 7 games out of the way. Will take the heat of expectation out of early season. Sounds like he needs a big rest to try and sort out that new knee issue.

it's a rumour only, not panicking yet. Can only wish this guy the very best - suspect that he would only have to scratch his knee and rumours will abound.

The tendinitis was what set him back over the past 12 months. I have no doubt it's ongoing and will recur from time to time - but hope a good rest over the summer helps reduce any problems.

Suspect its only a rumour. He played 5 VFL games prior if I'm not mistaken, and the medicos felt he was good for a return to the AFL team. There is no special reason why AFL would cause more of an issue than VFL when it comes to tendonitis.

In anycase, a proper preseason (even if it is individualised) will no doubt see him return in 2016 with more confidence and vigour. I'm really looking forward to it.

Tendinitis will be an on going fact of life for Daniel for the rest of his footy carrier and then for the rest of his life. Hopefully the worst is behind him but it will be an ongoing issue. Fortunately he has already proven that he has the mental fortitude to deal with it. Given what he showed at both VFL and AFL levels since his return he should make a strong contribution to the club next season and beyond.

The only reason he was playing poorly was that he was suffering leather poisoning from the week before.

If you look at past examples players usually play well the first week back from an extended break and then do very little the second week. He was sore and that was it. Bring on a massive pre-season.

Id be thrilled with 15 games next season, manage him. treat him as a new veteran as he probably has the knees of a 90 year old.

The reality is it's going to re-occur, the only question is how often. Management of it is always going to have to be considered.

And will the produce or be delisted crowd have any patience for that or will it be the automatic ejection upon entering the management zone?
